The city gets the revenue for the game, they own the stadium. Hotels get all the revenue for the people who come in. Restaurants and entertainment, all of that goes to the city. Taxes for all of that goes to the city. They city makes huge bank from the game. The Raiders really don't get much from the week and the game. I am sure Davis will try to squeeze out some money from private events but it really is the city that gets the windfall. Cities that host Super Bowls really don't affect the team value that much. I mean, it may go up some but that is not a lasting value increase. We already sell out so it will not drive up ticket sales or anything for the following years. This is an event that really showcases the hosting city far more than the team unless we are in it.
There is a family owned restaurant across the street from Levis stadium. Owner looked forward to cashing in when the Super Bowl came to town. According to the local news, the NFL "took over" a perimeter of the areas surrounding the stadium and shut them down during Super Bowl week and instead had their own venues inside. Family almost lost the business entirely because they were depending on the Super Bowl revenue. It was quite the story locally when it happened, I'll try to dig up a linkAttyla wrote: Tue Mar 31, 2026 12:30 pm The city gets the revenue for the game, they own the stadium. I don't think that's correct. The Raiders paid for half of it so at the very least they should get half of the revenueAttyla wrote: Tue Mar 31, 2026 12:30 pm The city gets the revenue for the game, they own the stadium. Simply put, that is the NFL for you. When they hosted the draft here, the city really got a huge bump demonstrating we could handle such a big event. The team was terrible at the time so it was pretty embarrassing how few Titans gear was on display. Fans of all the other teams were out in droves. It actually was a bit of a black eye for the local team. City made out like a bandit. Team took a hit. Go figure.Xramfan wrote: Tue Mar 31, 2026 12:41 pm There is a family owned restaurant across the street from Levis stadium. Owner looked forward to cashing in when the Super Bowl came to town.
