Sir, a second plane has hit Mendoza….Toast wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 7:06 am The question that needs to be asked is if Fernando Mendoza would want to even play for the Raiders?

Draft 2 QBs, trade Maxx in return for draft pick/s and then use the draft and cap space to address the OL and DL.
If we can improve both the OL and DL, that would make the jobs of our QB's, RBs, and DBs much easier.
As long as we draft at least 2...1 highly rated and 1 in a later round.WolfRaider wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 6:12 am Two QBs, sure but no to Pavia. The guy isn’t close to being an NFL prospect in my opinion. Somebody like Drew Allar though…. Big body, mobile and a cannon of an arm
Yeah. Way too many needs to do anything else.Attyla wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 7:42 am We do not need to draft two QBs, we need to draft the top QB and then let the draft come to us. If we need a second QB and the right one falls to us in the draft, that is fine, if not we get a backup in FA.
Forcing the draft to fit a position is part of what has gotten us into this mess.
Yeah we have so many holes to fillAttyla wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 7:42 am We do not need to draft two QBs, we need to draft the top QB and then let the draft come to us. If we need a second QB and the right one falls to us in the draft, that is fine, if not we get a backup in FA.

I mean, I get it, guys do not want us to go through another drought at QB so they want us to load up. There is a problem with that philosophy, though. You have O'Connell on a rookie deal so he is cheap to keep. You got guys who are competent backups on teams that are going to draft new backups so guys will be out there floating around. And most importantly, you got a high draft pick coming your way and at least two guys worthy of being picked. One in particular just showed how class he is during his Heisman moment on stage and after. I had not looked at his character until then and then I went back and dug up some other stuff on the guy. So, let's say we win the Mendoza sweepstakes. OK, good for us. Now we need a few things. We need a line for him and Jeanty. There will be some free agents out there, but age will be a factor so that is a bandaid. So at least in round 2 you have to either go receiver or offensive line. You will need defensive help so that is probably day 2 and into day 3 of the draft. Day three later on you are adding depth and special teams. So unless you plan on moving on from O'Connell, where do you find a guy who can hold a clipboard and still fill the needs of the team.
Good for you.
But which is more important? Draft a third string QB or do everything you can to get your line improved so your rookie first string QB has time in the pocket?raidersince63 wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 11:40 am Whole lot easier finding a suitable replacement for one position thru one draft that it is to find suitable replacements for multiple linemen through one draft.
What I meant was that we'll lose to KC.RickRyb wrote: Mon Dec 15, 2025 7:56 am I get so confused here. I take it by this post you want The Raiders to show dignity and win their remaining three games. Is this correct?
