from my vantage point, his arm talent is still there. However, he relies on that arm talent way too much. It is like he gets geeked up when he sees a chance for a long strike so his mechanics go to shit from the waist down. He rarely steps into those throws and lofts it all from his shoulder. He seems to not realize setting his feet and using his hips in those throws not only gets the accuracy improved, but allows for more zip on the ball on a lower arc.
I'm seeing the same thing you are - I guess a lot of us are. My take, however, is that it isn't because he's geeking out, it's because he's become overly enamored with the "cool" flick of the wrist throw. I see him doing this in warmups, training camp clips, and in game situations in which it is totally not necessary. I don't know if he sees Mahomes throwing odd-angle throws and is trying to emulate him, but Mahomes has a lot more insight when to use different techniques due to his baseball background.
I was always super careful when I coached throws with different arm slots and weight distribution in softball and baseball. My older daughter fell in love with some the "cool" mechanics when her HS coach worked on it with her, but she was a shortstop and shouldn't be using them in most situations. So, I made sure that my players know that we only use these mechanics in very specific situations, and that we always want to make sure that we get our hips lined up and drive our lower body to the target in the majority of situations.

Carr sucks, you can see it on film. If it was year one then it’s a fun and interesting conversation about why he sucks and how it can be fixed. But alas, it’s year nine, he stills sucks, and we have to watch him Sunday after Sunday after Sunday.

But, since you mention it, I really think he would benefit from a sports psychologist, or at least a coach with some insights into his issues and ways to fix them. He seems to be a guy who often tries to think his way through plays as opposed to reacting.

The majority of the time, especially in the redzone, he’ll look at two options on only one half of the field. If Defenses weren’t busy scaring the shit out of him with a pass rush, they could just have a safety or extra cornerback spy him and there’d be a race for the single-game interception record for every one of our opponents.

Far being it from me trying to wade through skull mush....dude's been check down charlie his whole career.
I'm thinking in a couple more years he'll have the .....over the top to DA in sync.
We just need to be more patient.

Carr doesn't see the field, he never has. He goes to his predetermined read, and if it isn't there he checks it down.

Maybe not intelligence wise but football wise? I wonder if he has learned the entire playbook yet. I know he took a lot longer with Gruden's than any QB Gru had before him.

Signing Adams was a great investment. It's finally exposed Carr for being the mediocre quarterback he's always been.
Lol, embarrassing man. Carr's gonna take Adam's career down with his. All the pressure of expectations is getting to Carr, he has no more excuses.
Remember when the same thing kept happening to Cooper then he “quit on the team”.
Not only has Carr killed coaches’ careers, he’s also scared away weapons who want to have a legitimate career.
And to those saying “McDAnIeLs ShOuLd Be fIReD”, how can a coach have success if you don’t run his plays the right way? As I’ve said before, no coach would have success with a QB like that. If we’re smart, we will replace Carr before McDaniels — which of course means we’ll fire McD this off-season but Carr will be here until he is 40
