They may lose in the playoffs but they at least have a chance at the SB every year. Compare that to having a top 10 pick every year. What option are you taking?
If you were a Stealers fan, you would be tired of losing out in the playoffs and calling for a coaching change just like most every Stealers fan is doing now.
Yeah Tomlin has had some awful rosters and still made the playoffs. When was the last time they had a QB?
Of course the goal is to win SBs but how many teams have done it the last 20 years? The Pats run limited opportunities. Andy Reid was ragged on this site because he couldn't win the big one as well.
Their only competition in their division is the Ravens.....They would have tied for 3rd in the West and scored fewer points than Denver.
As far as the QB, Check out who he had at QB for all but 4 years....

Every season it seemed the tight ass Steelers never resigned their players or signed FA's. Tomlin always had that team in the playoffs. Unfortunately people are not appreciated until you no longer have them (not only in football but all phases of life).

If the Steelers got rid of him he would have 20 job offers. He puts a competitive team on the field no matter what roster he has been given

They are no longer impressed. Sure they like a competitive team, but for them it's about SB's and if you judge that way, it hasn't been good at all recently.
Simple explanation: They're idiots.
Sports history is full of moron fanbases who want their successful head coaches gone because "We keep losing in the playoffs!" or "We never win the big one!" Ownership finally listens and fires the guy (or the coach just says "F this" and quits), and his replacement promptly turns the team into cellar-dwellers, leaving the fanbase wistfully pining for the "Good Old Days" of the guy they thought they hated.
Hate the Steelers but I always admired Mike Tomlin...he doesn't put up with any crap...you're either part of the problem or part of the solution.
I lost all respect for Tomlin after he stepped on the field of play and changed the outcome of a game. Pete Rose was banned for life on the possibility that he cheated and Tomlin gets a slap on the wrist for obvious cheating.

I don't believe anyone here said Tomlin isn't a good coach. NFL through it's history has had really good coaches who couldn't win a SB...
Marty Schottenheimer and Tony Dungy are two off the top of mind..... and the organization fired both because they couldn't get it done.
Coaches get old and set in their ways and sometimes it's best for an organization to move on.

I do think its important to note Mike Tomlin has won a superbowl. One of 5 or 6 active head coaches to win one. Hes not Bill B or Andy Reid but hes been as successful as anyone but those two over the past 15 to 20 years.

Also to note how hard it is to keep contending once your franchise qb retires or declines. Even did Bill B in. If Mahomes retires today Andy isnt winning any more superbowls either.

You are correct, he didn't win a ring until Mahomes was in the fold but he was close in Philly. McNabb choked away that chance and let's not forget that Mahomes has lost a few himself.
I am not soft pedaling how great Mahomes is (I hate saying that BTW) but Reid is a great football mind one of the best ever.

It's a tough league, getting a first down is tough. Tomlin and John Harbaugh are in the playoffs every year. I just want to watch the Raiders play meaning football in December again.
