Last game against the Chiefs in 2018 is where he lost me.
always lol. it will until you are no longer there. you have had 8 years to learn to win...your learning curve is glacierly slow.
It is 2022. You have to put points on the board otherwise you are also trying to catch a different bolt of lightning in a smaller bottle.
Trying to build like it is twenty and thirty years ago and an exception rather than the rule even then is most likely futile. The rules and scoring ability of the opposition are stacked against such builds.
The 9'ers almost pulled it off. They were literally a play away from the Super Bowl just last season. When Tampa won two years ago, it was their D that (along with Brady) that snuffed the life out of opposing offenses.
I won't argue too hard against seeking a future QB in the next draft though. He'd be cheap for a few years and we could pour resources into other parts of the team. Whatever the case, we're going to have to get really lucky one way or another.
Same.
Last game against the Chiefs in 2018 is where he lost me.
Same here. IIRC, that was the game where we were able to run the ball successfully, but Carr couldn't do shit in the passing game despite having multiple opportunities. That was when the weirdness really started too; all the talk of how obviously he'd improved at the end of the season when we got beat 35-3 (or something like that). It was the beginning of the Excuse Train and it's been screaming down the rails ever since.

Doug Martin had 100 yards on something like 23 carries.
Carr?
24-33, 185 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs
He quit (IMO) in the 2nd half. Up until that point I had always gave him the benefit of the doubt. After that I hope for the best but I’m always expecting the worse.

I felt the 49ers were fluky to the point that they didn't buy it themselves but they do give the best today's game example of the model working.
Brady and those weapons plus Brady recruiting players to team friendly deals on both sides makes me toss the Bucs though.

It had a nervousness to it, but I believe most fans thought they’d wake the hell up and put the game away. The only time I saw a real sign of visible frustration was when the offense had that quick 3 and out and took no time off the clock. But that was, again, frustration as opposed to booing.
Side note -
It’s hard to believe those two halves existed together. Everyone was so fired up going into halftime. Nelly was the halftime performer, strangers were high fiving, hugging and partying like it was 2004. I ran into a couple Cardinals fans around my age waiting in line at the bar. They were dejected. Almost as if they had accepted defeat and were going to make the best of it. Nobody, and I mean nobody in that stadium thought it would end up the way it did. Didn’t matter if you were a Raiders fan or Cardinals fan. The energy was high and it was loud. Just an unbelievable turn of events.
No one’s words carry less weight than the Fresno Frauds. Said those, went home, blocked more people on social media, and fired-up “Call of Duty”.
Let the door hitcha where the Good Lord splitcha or not. I don’t give a f[raiders_icon]ck. Just get your miserable sorry-ass sad sack of sissy loser-ooze drippin’ shit away from this f[raiders_icon]cking football team.

It's bad when Jalen Hurts (a tailback) is throwing better balls than Carr.
