No one likes a Fake. It’s why Seattle booed Wilson. Somethin’ about a fake makes people uncomfortable. It’s a deep caveman snake-brain behavior. Just don’t sit right with folk.

Besides all that, ‘Zona has one of the worst secondaries in the league. If Carr can’t beat the Cardinals, we will have an easy time grabbing Young or Stroud next year.

Unless it was Stidham to the rescue. Would be kinda fun to see Carr’s reaction to being benched. For all the shit games he’s put up, we’ve never had a Coach with the stones to do it.

:pirateflag: QB in ‘23 :pirateflag:
I was thinking there is no way they will bench Carr because it would lower his potential trade value. I thought they might have him fake a groin injury or something instead. Then I remember he has a no trade clause and can only be cut. So yeah I think they could bench him and make an example to the rest of the players that no one is above reproach. Looking at Overthecap.com Carr can be outright cut after the season with only a 5.6 million cap hit. Heres the even better news if they wait until post june 1st the cap hit would only be 1.8 million.
I don’t know if he was balling like a baby - looked like a guy in shock that his leg just snapped. While not as severe of an injury as say an ACL it certainly was more graphic
I thought he handled that incredibly well. He was mic'd up and just 'it's broke'.

Likely shock as you said but I really thought he was tough from his reaction.

His scouting report from college is exactly who he is. You are what you are.
He couldn't press the advantage against the Browns last year when they had to sign unemployed players to start in their secondary. That's the thing about Carr; nothing is ever a given.
Nail on the head. The biggest problem with Carr - he just can’t be trusted. Whether he plays great or terrible it generally tells you nothing about what to expect next week. It’s why he’s so polarizing.

If you want to believe in the guy - just reminisce fondly on his great games. He’s had many of them. Rationalize the bad ones as being not that many, not that bad, or not all on him. And as sure as the sun will rise - he’ll have another great game that keeps you believing.

If you want desperately to move on - reminisce angrily about his bad games. He’s had many of them. Rationalize the good ones as not that many, not that good or not all him. And as sure as the sun will rise - he’ll have another bad one that keeps you wondering how he’s been around this long.

It’s like being in a volatile relationship. When you’re on good terms - she’ll treat you like a king. When you’re on bad terms - she’ll throw plates at your head. Thinking either occurrence is the sign of a new chapter is foolish - the only consistent thing is you’re going to continue to experience both of those things and you generally won’t know why or when it’ll flip back and forth.
Hopefully he won't go all ultra conservative this weekend and fail to press the advantage against a dicey ass secondary resulting in low points giving the Cardinals a chance but that sounds like his corrective action plan.
After last game and him saying he was too aggressive I fully expect him to try not to make any mistakes and end up playing ultra conservative in a close game… hope I’m wrong.

Interesting to read McDaniels say he doesn't want Carr running the ball or extending plays with his legs, but staying in the pocket instead.

Let him checkdown all game so he doesnt mess up? or have him act like a normal QB and take the risk of him screwing it up again? Thats a real dilemma for a new leadership team.
