Week one tanking? I thought I had heard them all. Vegas gives 3 points to the home team and we are 3 point favorites. Maybe a gimme means different things to us

Bowers himself has to contribute to that process by being transparent with respect to what he's feeling, and the staff needs to make sure he knows that they want him fully healthy before taking the field.
You don't have to worry about that. Bowers made it clear last year that he didn't like the way that coaching staff handled things.

Also: You guys hate on everything I say anyway, even when I'm right 9/10 times. You guys dance and parade over the singular time you thought I was wrong to create a narrative.

But when I'm right (Bennet, Murray, Ellis, Lynch, Mack, Carr, ect.) Everyone goes dark and disappears like nothing happened. The issue isn't passing a million lies as facts, it's being obtuse about what we all recognize to be objective and subjective. Not to mention, "Ey, you were right about ___, I'll give you that." that would go a long way in adding credibility to your "call outs".

im expecting the raiders to take the seattle seahawks path to success and that starts with oline and strong run game, which we have currently, where we lack is at the wr1 position and defense which may take a couple of yrs to build up...im happy with our current coaching situation, grabbing a young stud that is a proven winner and offensive mind is a nice beginning...spytek im 50/50 on still has a lot to prove as he has had many whiffs so far

3 pts at home is a 50/50 game

well, don't be wrong all the time about literally everything you say and then parade around trying to get some validation like some sorority chick on a bender begging for attention from the guys at the party.

Interesting. I hope you're right, it would make things a whole lot better.

Who's the home team?
Are Raider fans going to out number Dolphin fans?
Actually in this case I expect that.
But I'm not sure the Raiders do have that 3 point home advantage in reality.

mranquales wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 5:34 am I know people don't want to hear this, but this is another steppingstone in Bowers being gone. I agree with others though, if we can draft a true WR1, and maybe an OL in round 2 or 3, I think our offense is pretty much complete. Mendoza, Jeanty, Bowers, Jeremiah Smith, and a top 15 OL sounds like a team that can compete.
I’m trying to understand why this is another stepping stone towards Bowers being gone, injuries happen in a brutal sport where a career can be ended on any given play. I’m also curious why Kubiak downplayed the injury report when asked.
Regardless, in my mind we are about 10 players away from being a 9-10 win team.

Yeah there will be a lot of Miami fans there but at least the game is not in Miami. 95 degrees and 100 % humidity. It's brutal right now

chucker wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 6:51 am A Physiotherapist joined Ted Nguyen on his podcast and talked about Bowers.

Key takeaways:
Don't assume what you don't know (duh), and don't blame the coaches/trainers unless you actually know what's going on. Or go ahead and blame, but don't be surprised if nobody listens to you or cares.
It appears that it's the same knee as his PCL injury last season.
A meniscus trim can occasionally cause a player to miss just a couple of weeks, but this guy's NFL database suggests that 4-6 weeks is more typical and if you come back in a couple of weeks you're likely still going to have swelling and discomfort and less effectiveness.

I'm not going to say we should hold him out for a specific period of time, but I have no interest in seeing him rushed back before he's fully recovered. Bowers himself has to contribute to that process by being transparent with respect to what he's feeling, and the staff needs to make sure he knows that they want him fully healthy before taking the field.

Like with starting Cousins ahead of Mendoza, this is another opportunity to place 2027 results as more important than 2026. That's what I support, and I hope the team and players have the same approach.

If you find yourself playing the blame game on this, I'd suggest listening to the podcast and learning a little about how to realistically and professionally analyze something with the actual information you have instead of just making shit up and calling it a fact.

They talked about everything that was going on in what I was thinking yesterday as well with the addition of something else that hadn't occurred to me. How did last year's staff handle the injury? It was stated that he was rushed back onto the field, was that last year's staff? Brock? Both? Now that we are beyond that it's going to be of the upmost importance how it is handled from this point going forward. And as Marshall touched on (paraphrasing here)... in the context of this season I don't see any reason to rush him back. Which makes sense.

I couldn't help but also LOL with how animated Marshall got when discussing this is why we hired Kubiak. This is what he is paid the big bucks for, this is precisely why we hired him. I read about and I hear a lot of people talking about having a #1 receiver but who's to say someone on this team won't develop into that guy in his system, come close to it(?) and if not I have seen many a team win without them. Everything will work off of the run. If we can be a formidable run team we will give other teams defenses fits. For Brocks future and "In the context of this season" there really is no reason to rush him back. And speaking just for me, I never had it in my head that this season was all about wins and losses but more about showing the rest of the league how good we are.

It's the plan going into the season. So yes, week 1 would factor into that

heavyD wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 7:22 am Sure it dampens the enthusiasm for the team getting off to a good start but If he misses 4-6 weeks it's not the end of the world. Probably the most important thing here is that he's fully healthy when Mendoza gets into action. They are likely going to be in good position to draft a very good player in the 1st round if the QB class is as good as it's been hyped. This is also a really good opportunity for Mayer to show what he can do in the Kubiak offense so hopefully he takes full advantage of this opportunity.
I’ll take more of these reasonable thoughts that are minus the doomsday despair.
