It seems to me that Webb is potentially a whizz-kid a la McVay. A real QB whisperer that would be awesome for Mendoza. Problem is he’s been in the league for too short a time to build up the relationships to assemble a good staff.

Hearing they want to interview Davis Webb is exciting and makes me feel slightly better about the process.
Stay in that lane, well respected young upcoming offensive coach who we can gamble on being the next wiz.

The Shanahan scheme is damn near like the modern version of the veer or wishbone in the fact that it just fuckin churns out yardage on the ground regardless. I have a deep respect for that wide zone Shanahan scheme. It just works. The Seahawks had trouble running the rock last year.. they bring in Kubiak and that scheme, add Grey Zabel in the first at guard and with essentially the same line they're running all over people. Sign me up for Kubiak.
Kliff Kingsbury is known as a spread game pass happy guy but he actually has a great ground attack. He runs a great scheme and he's excellent with quarterback development. He should be near the top of the list also IMO
Kubiak is by far my #1 choice... his scheme is nearly unstoppable with the right pieces.
I looked up Kingsbury and he's actually growing on me. I still think he's a douche for what he pulled, backing out on our offer to get a higher one. But he runs a damn good scheme too.
Flores is a HELL NO.
Stefanski, I don't know what people see in him... his offensive numbers have only been good 1-2 seasons in his coaching career. I mean his personnel were pretty bad, but still...

I could easily get behind Kubiak HC and Webb OC.

You don’t want to be the idiot team that hired the next McVay as OC for a couple of years.

Found out something interesting on Kubiak and why he’s not seen as a top candidate like Ben Johnson.
Personality. Or lack of. Quite guy apparently, not a leader of men. Sounds more like a OC then a HC

What does this even mean? You think coaches are coming in for interviews and just dumping on their current/former teams? What information could a 2-15 team get on the division winners? How not to suck complete ass?
It means we get to bring in a respected assistant and ask him questions like:
How would you create more space for Jeanty to run in? What schemes and personnel shifts would you use? Do you see JPJ as a Center or Guard? Glaze as a starting Guard or Tackle or just a backup?
What's your opinion of our young receiver corps? Do any of them stand out based on their 2025 game film?
Would Fernando Mendoza or Dante Moore be easier to bring up to the level of NFL starter by the beginning of the 2026 season? Who has the higher ceiling?
Where would you concentrate your efforts in Free Agency to improve this roster ahead of the draft?
And so on. Al would use HC interviews as a chance to pick the brains of opposing assistants he respected, and so do a lot of good teams today.

Understand the sentiment but finding the next McVay is the holy grail for practically every franchise and whilst the comparison will of course be made, that's alot of pressure on Webb's shoulders not withstanding coming into a Franchise like the Raiders who've traditionally burned through HC's like nobodies business!
You may well be right in that he might just believe if he's not offered HC then why move to OC to a divisional rival so better off staying at the Broncos.
Regardless though, taking our HC search in that direction can definitely construed as a positive.

I mean damn I wanted a young up n comer but Webb was just drafted in the 3rd round in 2017 lol and has never been a OC. Idk, least he aint a retread though and id damn sure take a chance on the unknown over Stefanski or the other slop that's being mentioned.

“Webb had a chance to call plays for a preseason game and I'm told he knocked it out of the park. You have to remember that Sean Payton was so impressed with Webb when he interviewed, that the Broncos called to have the car turn around on the way to the airport and hired him on the spot.”

Broncos assistant Davis Webb to interview for Raiders HC job Wednesday
“The Raiders have requested an interview with Broncos quarterbacks coach/pass game coordinator Davis Webb, Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports.
It will be the 30-year-old Webb’s first head coaching interview.
Webb spent six seasons as an NFL backup quarterback before Sean Payton hired him as an assistant in 2023. He has worked with Russell Wilson and Bo Nix in his three seasons in Denver.
Raiders General Manager John Spytek is a former Broncos’ scout.
The Raiders also will interview Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as they seek to replace Pete Carroll, whom they fired Monday.”
(Spytek’s done being the “kid” in the room.)

I don't know dick about Webb but that's the kind of thinking I like seeing from the Raiders. Doesn't seem conventional and it very well could be a home run.
