Waller was open, but Carr threw behind him. Easy td but settled for a FG.
Adams was ahead of all the defenders, but under throws(interception).

Renfrow was in front of his defender, but Carr throws behind him(interception). Adams was also open on that play.
The problem was not that Carr was being too aggressive or the receivers weren't getting separation, it was Carr throwing bad passes.
The sacks are also a Carr problem because he doesn't try to extend plays with his feet and always stays in the pocket.
This doesn’t get discussed enough.
Much is made of him crying…not scrambling etc. etc.
He’s not terribly accurate.
His deep ball has gone to hell.
These were not forced errors. He did those himself.

Give them some time to knock the rust off already. Another 8 years or so should do the trick.
Give them some time to knock the rust off already. Another 8 years or so should do the trick.
When I was watching the game, I definitely saw rust with the Chargers, Herbert looked like he was rushing through his reads and as a result, he started running early and often. That seemed to subside during the game. He had a few yips out there even into the second half.
The rust I saw from our team was probably more to do with a lack of reps and a new system/verbage. Carr did not look like he was rushing things in the first half, he just looked off his game. It was the second half when they wore down our line that we started with the error ball. The fumbles by Carr are typically due to pass rush and his inability to keep the handle when the traffic gets to him, and we saw that yesterday. It was the INTs that really looked like rust to me. Bad throws, not leading his guys and that deep throw he loves to float were things I saw there.
But I think the flow of the game on offense was unfamiliar to our guys. We passed a lot more in my mind than we have during the Carr years. I think what we saw yesterday will improve, but spending all your dollars on your weapons at the cost of your protections will cost us a few more games.
The game ended with statue Carr getting sacked and fumbling on the last 2 plays, when is the statue gonna stop being the biggest fumbler of all-time and extend plays with his feet?
He's looked like Kerry Collins back there. Collins was the biggest statue. Carr can run and should especially if the offensive line can't hold their blocks. It's called a roll out Derek. Other QBs use it to extend plays. It also let's the d-ends know that you're just not going to sit back there and be sacked.
This is year 9 with this guy. He's as good as he's gonna get. There's no more upside to him. Us wishing he would do this or do that is pretty much pointless (me included).

It sucks the team must take an important divisional loss because of one player. I believe this team has what it takes to win, just need a quarterback.

I was REALLY hoping that in some way or in some manner, Josh would take Carr to another level. That somehow, he would actually mature as a QB like wine with age.
I now feel foolish. Nothing, not one moment in that entire game suggested that Carr has improved in any aspect of his game. It is very much like this thread, groundhog day, the same old Carr making the same old mistakes. Good grief.
