I think having another guy he can trust to get open quickly in Adams will help because Carr relies heavily on his presnap reads, and it should certainly help that defenses simply can't blanket all of our top three targets.

I can even see him standing a little stronger in the pocket. I don't see that coming from better pocket awareness, as I don't think he'll ever really develop that, but he might hang in better if he has more targets that are likely to come open.

The biggest improvement, IMO, will come from more quick passes working out because we have three guys who can get open quickly and then take advantage with some YAC.
This 100%.
Maybe. I am pretty much done holding out hope. I really don’t care if we beat them game 1. In fact I feel moderately confident we will have a winning record going into the holidays. Unfortunately that’s the norm, a winning record until Santa comes down the chimney to bring us Xmas Carr. Then we shit the bed and “hope” we can get off the naughty list next season. Xmas Carr, the gift that keeps on giving.
I'm more confident in the coaching and overall team, than I am of Carr. Either way this is Carr’s ultimatum season, better play well because you have no excuses.

The oline is suspect, but imo Carr has to play well regardless of the oline. The only thing that gives me hope is McDaniels play calling and the receiving targets Carr has and not Carr in general. The running game will also make Carr’s job easier.

Every year I hope Carr finally gets it, but the excuses always seem to pile up. No more excuses and ball the f[raiders_icon]ck out Carr!!!

Prediction - playing with Adams changes the way Carr plays and sees the game. He shows improvement on plays that break down.

Takes more chances deep than he was last year until Ruggs departed, which was near the top then.

I feel like Adams presence will boost his sometimes fragile morale, because he will not want to face his friend after quitting.

The routes of Renfrow, Adams, the healthy Waller, the screens, rotating good fresh RBs, are going to make him more inventive inside this offense.

He's not a dumb person, sly in menu ways but his IQ...well let's say his football IQ, is not too high. Average at best.
It's possible he takes a mental step, later in his career. A slow developer, developing. Now in his best situation.

I could be wrong, but I'll say it, and hope it comes true: I think his play improves, not just his stats.

But his days of throwing 4th down away or games away had better be over, or he is to me.
5 500 yards 19 TDs and 10 ints
LOL...

I can see Carr going over 5000 but the TD passes have to be a lot higher. He needs around to have 40.....

(edit) That's of course if the OL doesn't get him killed....

Right?
you can grade high in a category and still not handle pressure well. When the front 4 ding him up he can become error prone. His fumbles in the pocket when it collapses are some of the worst I have seen from an "elite" QB

I like Carrs arm and accuracy. I hate his pocket awareness and his fumbling % when hit is terrible.

Do I think we can win with him? Yes
