I agree, he has a good line, that helps. His receivers are eh. Nobody is getting any separation down field so Nix is hitting a lot of slants and quick outs and quick ins. Webb has done a pretty good job of masking the fact that the deep ball is just not there. And because they are running those routes, nobody is getting particularly great yards after the catch. Nix will be fine after they get him better tools and such.MexicanHulk wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 1:02 pm Oh yeah, I’m with you on not putting too much blame on him for the Broncos passing game short comings. I think Bo Nix is solid but a heavily overrated QB. Especially coming into this season. I thinks it’s calmed down a bit as the season progressed. His receiving options aren’t that good either. There’s some talent to like there but overall not too great &, inexperienced. I think he’s helped make them look better than they actually are. At least that would be the hope if he’s hired here lol

Forgive me by simple I didn’t mean too tight end form one wide receiver run up the middle. There’s only nine routes in football. By simple, I mean the core basis of your terminology for formations and route combos from there your playbook can be limitless. Then you can add in emotions and everything else as your window dressing. Ultimately, the players you have will dictate your “scheme”.MexicanHulk wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 11:04 am Creating a basic one isn’t that hard for these coaches but, we don’t want a basic HC. We don’t want a basic OC. Those fail & fail miserably, if that’s all they got. I’m wondering if he’s known or talked about as a offensive genius who can put together a “great” playbook, be a “great” play caller &, a “great” teacher of said scheme.
Shanahan, McVey, Ben Johnson, were known to do be that.
I’m asking if Webb has this outlook/projection as well. Cause if not, then he’d be a Siriani type. A Dan Campbell type. Really good leaders of men but, when their OC/DC’s leave &, not replaced with high quality coordinators, the team falls off big time. I’d be less enthusiastic if he falls into this category of HC.

Sure hope somehow it doesn’t become Joe Brady. That would be disappointing

My gut feeling is the longer you give the top HC candidates to think about coming to the Raiders...the less likely they are to come to the Raiders..just saying.

I agree. I see where their thinking is coming from but, underwhelming for sure. I will say, the Buffalo offense does draw some similarities to the Raiders are far as it being strong at RB and TE, and completely lackluster at wide-receiver. perhaps that's the appeal?Raidernation1979 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 1:46 pm Sure hope somehow it doesn’t become Joe Brady. Sadly the Buffalo offense only goes when Allen goes. Brady throws a shit ton of screens to the outside. At least he started running from under center which daboll never did. But both of them have needed Allen to go Superman to make it work.riseNraid09 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 1:58 pm I agree. I see where there thinking is coming from but, underwhelming for sure. For sure... and he could probably aid Mendoza's growth having been a QB coach before becoming a coordinator, but there are other candidates who certainly seem more equipped to fit the HC role.Raidernation1979 wrote: Fri Jan 16, 2026 2:13 pm Sadly the Buffalo offense only goes when Allen goes. Who played QB under Stefanski while HC of the Browns?
During his tenure from 2020 to 2025, Kevin Stefanski's Browns team started an NFL-high 13 different quarterbacks. This constant turnover at the position was a significant challenge for the organization.
The starting quarterbacks for the Cleveland Browns under Kevin Stefanski were:
Baker Mayfield: He was the primary starter from 2020 to 2021, leading the team to a playoff win in 2020.
Case Keenum: Started two games in 2021 when Mayfield was injured.
Nick Mullens: Started one game in 2021.
Jacoby Brissett: The main starter for the first 11 games of the 2022 season while Deshaun Watson was suspended.
Deshaun Watson: Took over as the starter at the end of the 2022 season and was expected to be the franchise QB, but dealt with injuries and inconsistent play through the 2024 season.
Joe Flacco: Signed late in the 2023 season and started five games, leading the team to the playoffs with a 4-1 record in that stretch. He also started four games in the 2025 season.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson: A rookie in 2023, he started five games across the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
P.J. Walker: Started two games in 2023.
Jeff Driskel: Started one game in 2023.
Jameis Winston: Started seven games in the 2024 season.
Bailey Zappe: Started one game in the 2024 season.
Dillon Gabriel: A rookie in the 2025 season, he started six games before getting a concussion and losing the starting job.
Shedeur Sanders: Another rookie in 2025, he became the starter for the final seven games of the season.
