The Off. Line - Complaints, Fixes, Questions, Draft

Mike Tice once said while coaching for the Raiders: “If you look at the offense like a fancy car, the offensive line is the engine. Even though we might have nice spinners and nice rims and tinted windows and some neat paint job, it doesn’t mean crap without the engine. If the engine’s not working, the car might look like a pretty nice car, but it’s a piece of crap.” And he was 100% right. I wish we had him back. Changes must be made on the O-line. Charles Grant is a very athletic lineman. We should give him some reps at right tackle. Bring back Powers-Johnson as the starter at center. Parham has got to go. Maybe we should consider moving Meredith back to guard. He did so well there last year. :cuss:

Center needs to lead the oline and has always been the most important player on the line, sorry blind-side tackle.
They call the plays and makes sure everyone executes them, along with doing their blocking assignment.
If we have a big turnaround this year, it has to cement this.
That last time we were good at oline, we so happened to get the Chiefs center Rodney Hudson and viola.
And when we see a good oline again you'll like it a lot because the skills start executing all over.
Don't take it for granted. Don't overlook it. Don't shortcut it. And most of all don't under-man it.
I want to be the team that is known as O-Line U.

Linderbaum is excellent at knowing who to help block when he doesn't have to immediately block someone after the snap in pass pro. He helps out the guard (sometimes gets a block assist on each guard) while simultaneously keeping an eye on his gap to block late blitzes/stunts. He's gonna be a big help to the guards

It is a fan, thus it lacks credibility. Are you suggesting Glaze is so hard to understand? Maybe you are just not able to comprehend an offensive lineman but the rest of us prefer actual firsthand sources.

Typically when someone says x will improve Y by 100%, it's usually hyperbole.
I rate the Raiders online a 25/100 last year, I can see him alone making them 50 out of 100.

Yea I heard all the PC & Kelly hype, and numerous other regimes so I'm always cautiously optimistic before I buy into anything Raider related...I'll wait until I see it on the field of play before I start buying in & go full Homer.

my issue is using a fan as a source. He is a fan, not reporting actual news or insight. He is not there, he knows shit. You sourced him, and that is suspect. If an actual coach or player is sourced, that makes it news. For it to be legit, it is either the actual person or first hand. He is neither. That is how the news works. Sorry but that clown is not a source for any news.

....and the players actually knowing their responsibility on each play has to help, (.....) and from what we were hearing last year, and how that compares to actually solid coaching this year, lest hope for another 25 or so (based on your scale) bump......

ok, so fans are now clowns and can't report anything or have any opinions...even when its based on a players observations
