The expectations go up when the dollars go up. That is not hating, that is accountability. I would wager that his contract has been structured with that accountability in mind.

If he fails, fortunately it’s not a terribly bad situation to get out of.

Name the last non-elite QB who started every season all season and made it to start season #9.
I'll wait.
They all had elite talent to last that long as the starter.
All Derek Carr has to do is show up and play. He has elite talent and is healthy. His contract amount is moot. The boo birds can boo, it doesn't matter.
Carr is not getting benched.
Carr is not getting traded.
Carr is not getting cut.
Just play, baby!
The rest will take care of itself.
