Yep it will be like amaris first year when carr was forcing him the ball every pass play. Didnt matter if he was double covered and we had other recievers wide open.
Crabtree got more targets than Cooper every year, so that didn't happen.
In the end it doesn't matter if Adams gets a ton of targets or just gets a reasonable number - as long as we score TDs and win games.

Agreeing with a point made above, Yes Carr needs to desperately fix his play action.
All I see is him stick his empty hand twords the RB. Most always his empty hand doesn't reach the RBs mid section. Terrible
Put the Ball in with both hands, yank it out and direct the run twords whomever you think is blitzing.

While Cooper was more controlled, Crabtree allowed his emotions to get the better of him which was a detriment. Crabs also turned on Carr toward the end of his time as a Raider. It was always someone elses fault with Crabs.

Adams will get more targets than he has any other season in his career. That’s my prediction given that Carr has no problem with having a fav target to force every pass to. As far as I’m concerned, if adams is running a route, he’s open.
Alex Smith nearly had his lower leg ripped off and somehow kept his composure. This guy get's a hangnail and the entire viewing audience bares witness to visible emotion.
Oof man. I thought of putting the Smith pic here for comparison, but that dude is in a whole different world of pain. I’ll let someone else do it. Reminds me of “The Scream” by Edvard Munch.

Play action execution isn't all about fooling us on TV because defenders don't have our view. Coaching the line better will make a big difference too.

I'll add what you said to my knowledge of the pap. I'll fit it in with the ball in the gut bc its part of the bigger picture, thanks yes
Was it Plunkett who yanked the ball hiding it against his right hip and stood there looking at the rb? For some reason I remember it being him.
I mean like even on run plays Carr would hand it off and roll out. Horrid.
He would roll out maybe 3 steps and pull up.
Ok for that to work, and I'm assuming he's trying to get a defender to move with him away from the ball carrier, you actually have to run(bootleg) the ball once a game. Otherwise it's the boy who cries wolf. No one believes him.
Its more likely you'll keep a defender honest if the QB RUNS the ball once in while, on purpose. Like a play call.
f[raiders_icon]ck sake if you're going to sell the QB run than at least sprint twords the sideline Derek.
Andy Reid has Mahomes run the ball at least once a game. Talk about keeping defenders honest. It opens up a another possibility defenders may have to react to.
It changes position of LBs. DBs, opens throwing lanes makes more room for WRs to find the opening, it goes on.
We don't do any of that shit
So this chart seems to dispel the notion that Carr is bad at play action. To the contrary, he’s right there with the best in the league. The Raiders, for whatever reason, just don’t call it very often. Maybe McDaniels changes that.

At any rate it seems to be untapped potential the last regime didn't use often.
At the end of the day it all adds up

It appears to me that IF you seldom use play action, that it will of course work more effectively.
The more you use it, the better at it you better be or the defense will sniff that shit out easily.
Not entirely convinced that Carr's effectiveness at play action has to do with technique. Think it might simply have to do with the fact that it is rarely utilized and thus, the D never expects it when it does happen.
Just something to consider....
