Well looks like we've got us a football god here. Let me explain it in terms you might understand.
The Sea of Hands play. I'm sure you've seen it before. It's posted once or twice in the Best Plays thread. In the waning, desperate seconds, Stabler has no one open. He buys all the time he possibly can. As he's being sacked, going to the ground, he tosses up a desperation throw, but giving his man the best possible chance to make a play. It worked.
Derek would have chucked it in the dirt and gave up. He's done it more than once. Giving up on plays is ANTI-RAIDER.
The Holy Roller. You're old enough to have seen that one I'm sure. Last play of the game. He's sacked, but has the wherewithal to keep the play alive. "Accidentally" fumbles, giving his teammates a chance to keep it alive. It worked. Big plays, in big moments in big games. Rising to the occasion when it matters. Stark contrast to the pansy behind center now.
Stabler never had great athletic ability, or even a great arm. What he did have was heart, guts, improvisational quick thinking ability, and a burning desire to win, especially in the biggest moments. Derek has none of those things, and likely never will. His stats come in the first 8 or 9 games, after that, it's clear he just wants to go home to his XBox. The lights get too bright for him. He'll choke again this year. Guts isn't something you can teach.
Excellent post!!!
This thread wouldn't exist if the Raiders were a winning franchise over the past 8 years.
Why aren't the Raiders a winning team? Do you really need to ask?
Just for shits and giggles come up with a list and leave the QB out for a change.
Then add the QB and weigh it out.
After you weigh it out you will have discovered that Derek Carr has been behind the eight ball his entire career.
https://i.pinimg.com/236x/6c/4d/b0/6c4d ... --ball.jpg

I blame Derek for his tendency to disappear late in seasons, and the way HE plays when we need him the most. I blame him for nothing beyond his control.

Stabler and Plunkett would have zero SuperBowls if it weren't for those defenses. Zero
That was the Raiders of old. Great defenses. It wasn't elite QBs. The last championship defense we had was almost 40 years ago and im betting more than half our fans have never witnessed a great Raiders defense in action.

In order to support and deflect blame, I will take a shit on team legacy. In this case, the 2 best quarterbacks that have ever played for the team.
Well done Maestro.

AKA the best in the league. Plunkett was SB XV MVP. Apparently they were pretty good.
Edit: I might add, if Derek had to face the same defenses, under the same rules Stabler and Plunkett did, he'd have quit football and become a preacher 7 1/2 years ago.

The Raiders have been a shitty franchise and haven't won a GODDAMN THING in 30+ years.... Carr gets drafted into this mess and suddenly it's all his fault?
I bet some blame him for inflation and gas prices too.

No prob. Lets go of the football to break his fall, in his own EZ. Peachy. Breaking turnover records. All good. Disappears at the end of every season, never his fault.
Last year, the defense carried this team to the playoffs. Came on strong when they needed to. All we needed was a QB to step up. Didn't happen. STILL everyone else's fault. Coaches, defense, anyone but him. Cue Twilight Zone music. Just weird.

The tissue-soft little b wouldn’t make it past training camp in the good ol’ Raider days. Does anyone see Carr explaining “mamba” to Matusak, Alzado, Hendricks, Tatum, hahahahaha. f[raiders_icon]cking anyone from those days would make piss dribble down Carr’s leg.

So, I have no idea what the f[raiders_icon]ck you are talking about. NO ONE has ever stated that Carr is the lone reason why the Raiders underachieve.
NO ONE. So please stop with these ridiculous claims. Give your head a shake.

You also might want to rethink your opinion on Stabler also. He was at or near the top in passing categories most pf his years as this teams starting qb

In fact as a youngster, that Sea of Hands game was the day I decided the Oakland Raiders were my team, and that long-haired quarterback with a full set of balls was my hero.

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/7d/e5/ee ... 8b2df0.jpg
Oh you mean the game where Carr got blindsided and fumbled because the GENIUS coach had Foster Moreau trying to block Hendrickson, one of the best pass rushers in the game?
Or where Foster Moreau dropped a TD that hit him in the hands? Or Deshawn Jackson dropping a ball right in his hands, that he could have possibly scored on?
He had 310 yards and a TD... enough to win.
Hell, they even had a chance to tie/win the game on the final drive....
On the last play the 2 best weapons in the game, Waller and Renfrow, were running FLATS and not even in the f[raiders_icon]cking end zone. The only guy in the end zone was Zay Jones and he was double/triple covered. What kind of shit play calling is that??
But yeah, totally his fault again. Sorry to question your genius.
