I feel like the Raiders are in a unique position to negotiate a reasonable QB contract, given that a team owner who is likely heavily involved in the communication process with Smith happens to be the guy known for having taken less than he should have in salary for much of his great career. How does Geno Smith, after having just 3 good seasons ever, look Brady in the eye and say "I need as much money as I can milk out of this"? I'm sure they find a reasonable middle ground.
Bradys Parents are billionaires, so its not really the same sacrifice.

Now Gisele made more than him
Bradys Parents are billionaires, so its not really the same sacrifice.
I think, given that Geno has already made close to $100 million, the money tends to be more ego-driven and a guy thinking of "getting as much as I deserve" than the actual money a guy needs to live the life he wants to live and provide a future for his family. Geno is already there in having enough money for life and provision for his family.

FWIW the business Thomas Brady & Associates has an estimated net worth of 500 million per the internets.

I didn't realize The Raiders were not getting the Jets' 3rd round pick (73), but the 3rd round pick the Jets got from Detroit (92). Makes the trade for Geno much easier to deal with.

Apt description.
At the moment, if we'd signed Darnold in FA as an alternative to Geno Smith, it would cost us a 4th round compensatory pick - that comparison softens the blow somewhat of giving up a 3rd for Geno. Free agents aren't entirely free if you're in the black on comp pick allocation.
