Is it Mendoza time???
We are on a 4 game losing skid, and I think it's time to put KC out to pasture...with that said all this talk of Mendoza getting destroyed is ridiculous...hell KC has somehow come out unscathed after 7 games what makes people think a mobile QB will fare worse...we aren't going anywhere with KC! It's time to get the kid some real game time experience & see what life with Mendoza entails!

How many games of "we aren't winning" is that? For me that is 4 straight.Raiders Baby wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 11:40 am The value of Kirk is twofold:
1) no rush for Mendoza
2) he might give you a better chance to win in our current arrangement
Point 1 becomes less compelling every week. At a certain point, reps are more valuable learning for Mendoza than watching Kirk. So Kirk needs to be fulfilling criterion 2 because at a certain point the value of 1 expires.
If Kirk is winning, then we should roll with Kirk, because it will only be easier for Mendoza if he doesn’t have to fix everything when he comes in.
Kirk winning = our current results are helping to establish a culture = better situation for Mendoza.
But if we aren’t winning with Kirk, there’s only a limited amount Mendoza can learn by losing on the bench. In that case, it’s time to start ramping up the next stage of the plan. I suspect we’re getting close to this point

In your very quote you mentioned Carr. Maybe you were thinking of another Carr. No biggie. Have a nice dayCoach dd 11 wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 11:17 am Jesus...I didn't compare him to DC....I said that he could get hurt or mentally break constantly playing behind a piss poor line like DC did in my opinion, and a lot of others. Fact is we have no way of knowing what we have in FM just yet, good or bad. How do you know "Mendo" is higher IQ and not as fragile mentally weak? He may very well be great but we don't know just yet either. Now I see where some people just want to play him and see what happens, but I'd be more in favor of waiting and letting him grown and learn this year. Hell, even if we were to trade Cousins then I'd argue to start AOC and play FM at times. I get a lot of people totally disagree with that notion too. I just don't think we are a very solid team and the play when drafting him was to let him grow, learn and develop and you do just that...built the team for him for next year, not this year.

Again, I didn't compare him to Carr. I referrenced how Carr went "downhill" after he was hurt/injured and was never close to being the same type of player. I was basically stating why take that risk right now with FM when we have such a shitty OL. Yes, I mentioned Carr by his name, nothing about comparing him and FM.Xramfan wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 12:56 pm In your very quote you mentioned Carr. Maybe you were thinking of another Carr. We also know that Mendoza has a higher IQ because of the schools he got into. We also know he has a high work ethic because of how he did in those schools and his actions on the sidelines during games. I went back after we secured the first overall pick and watched as much film on him as I could find in my spare time. He almost never spent time on the sidelines watching the defense, he was almost always on the bench with a tablet in hand going over the game. Even in the last minutes of the National Championship game when it was all but decided, he was scrolling that tablet. I doubt he was shopping at the NFL shop for Raiders gear.Xramfan wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 12:56 pm In your very quote you mentioned Carr. Maybe you were thinking of another Carr. No biggie. And we know he is not one who will shrink on the vine when things go bad from his time at Cal. We actually know quite a bit about what we can expect. What we don't know is if he will process the NFL game as quickly as he did in college. What we don't know is what he will do the first time one of those guys really takes a shot at him.

Do you know where the oline ranks in sacks given up? How dirty is Cousins after the game?Coach dd 11 wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 1:03 pm Again, I didn't compare him to Carr. I agree the oline blows but I think it blows worse when it comes to the run game vs pass protection but I could be wrong. My point being, Cousins doesn’t move around much and as far as I know has only taken an average amount of sacks.
I don’t think we need to treat 6’5” 230lb Mendoza with kiddie gloves and bubble wrap but that’s just me

Agreed, he needs to be battle tested and it is not like we are replacing the line anytime soon. Get him out there, let him take a couple pops and see what he does. And for what it is worth, PFF has our like line at 15 pass blocking.Xramfan wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 1:23 pm Do you know where the oline ranks in sacks given up? How dirty is Cousins after the game?

the numbers are misleading. And it is not about blaming anyone. It is about getting the future reps and after 4 losing games, let's get him out there and see what he does.erickench wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 1:41 pm It's amazing how they blame everything on the QB even though the defense sucks moose. Cousins had a good game yesterday. He threw for 300 yards and a couple of TDs.

Who are they? I have not seen anyone put all the blame on Cousins. Everyone agrees the D stinks and we can't run block. The point is we are not going anywhere this season why not put Mendoza in for the experienceerickench wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 1:41 pm It's amazing how they blame everything on the QB even though the defense sucks moose. Only team coming up id worry playing Mendo against is Seattle. Sure does suck we can’t run the ball at all.
