Offense looked good. Defense could use some work. Always good to get a win. Thoughts?

Has Mark fired a coach that we didn't want to be fired well before he made that firing?
Jack is the only one he might have been guilty on, his Gruden hard on was strong.
I don't feel he's this loose cannon some may portray.

Or are you suggesting Pete, Pierce or McD should still be coaching? I know your not.

Side note:

Maxx Crosby: 1.5 Sacks
Trey Hendrickson: 0 Sacks

...for those keeping score.

We all noticed how many high scores there were yesterday? Now the Chargers are not playing well yet, but the Raiders' defense is going to have to prove it against teams who are not Miami as they are going to get beat up all year. Their roster is incredibly young and without proven stars on offense or defense. I'm glad we are not facing the Bills, Bears, or other teams that can really bring it on offense. If the Chargers score 35-45 points on us, the discussion here will be a lot different.

...agree, but while that part is hard to watch, I like the idea of using his experience while getting the rest of the offense up to speed, rather than trying to do that with the kid....

Get over it Maxx. You dont need to play 100% of the snaps. We need your legs fresh to finish games also.

Good job coaches keeping him on a pitch count coming off injury.
Such a problem to have a guy who doesnt want to take a day off.

...I don't think that anyone would be shocked if we 'took a step back' against the far more talented, and now even more motivated chargers, but I feel that the team will be as ready as they can be, and will compete, regardless, and having the first game against the bad dolphins team was big in so many ways for a team trying to find its footing with all new 'lots of stuff'....

We’ll see how positive a postgame thread is after 4 weeks

O needs help at the G positions
D needs better interior play
Soft Zone vs a better QB will be more exposed gotta play more man

Chargers will expose every weakness this team has
Party at 72’s house :)

I do not disagree but please contain your excitement over the win.

By midseason, Jeanty is going to be making a case as one of the best backs in the league. We saw all three phases, he blocked really well when called upon to block he ran with authority and he caught some really nice passes.

Win the time of possession in this system and the rest will take care of itself.

He will have an eveb higher ceiling once Mendoza is ready and we can actually stretch the field. Seeing yesterday's game gives me a lot of hope Mendoza will be very effective once he can efficiently run the offense and things become a bit more automatic for him. Hopefully by midseason.

I did the math last year and compared to the average snap count vs. other DEs, Maxx has approximately a year and a half of extra wear and tear on him. You can buy the most durable car in the world, but if you're always going a hundred miles an hour, it's going to wear down a lot faster.

Encouraging that they shut down Achane who's a very good RB.

Dear Coaches, when the game is in the bag, save mileage on your #1 running back, especially one coming off injury.

This i am going to disagree with. Was the game in the bag if Washington coughs up a fumble? Game was definitely not in the bag on any of our offensive possesions besides the last kneel down one.

We beat a team that is at the top of the list of teams in the last decade who could go zero for the year. And we beat them convincingly. That says a lot about how bad they are. It does not say a thing about how good we are. We got some individual performances that were very good, and that is nice. But that was against the Dolphins so it is hard to measure how good they were. And to be quite frank, Willis sucks ass.

Beating the teams you should beat. That is where you start and we did that. Now, can we beat a team that requires more skill? That is what we are about to find out.

But the "meaningless" win was still a lot of fun to get. I am not convinced Miami is going to get one of those soon.
