That's only the half of it.

The next HC has to agree the draft pick is the right one that you can develop into a franchise QB. Jafatass Russell set this organization back a decade. Some say we are still feeling the effect.

A lot riding.... not only getting the pick correct...but getting the coaches right.

Stakes never been higher.

lol maybe they are trying to steal him for something other than HC, seems like a REACH.
I’m not laughing, we know Al would hire him. I know he’s probably not completely ready but I’d be ok with him….Telesco says we have lots to offer a coach

The Shanahan scheme is damn near like the modern version of the veer or wishbone in the fact that it just fuckin churns out yardage on the ground regardless. I have a deep respect for that wide zone Shanahan scheme. It just works. The Seahawks had trouble running the rock last year.. they bring in Kubiak and that scheme, add Grey Zabel in the first at guard and with essentially the same line they're running all over people. Sign me up for Kubiak.

Kliff Kingsbury is known as a spread game pass happy guy but he actually has a great ground attack. He runs a great scheme and he's excellent with quarterback development. He should be near the top of the list also IMO

What does this even mean? You think coaches are coming in for interviews and just dumping on their current/former teams? What information could a 2-15 team get on the division winners? How not to suck complete ass?

chucker wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 12:07 pm There are reports that Flores wants to leave Minnesota even if he doesn't get a HC job - there aren't any details, but it sounds like there's something wrong with some key relationships there. I guess if you interview him for HC, then he'd also be a possibility as a DC. Assuming he doesn't sue you for not hiring him as HC.
lol.

Sounds like a Gruden type personality? Overbearing, swaggering, tin plated dictator with delusions of god hood.

Willmark wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 6:05 pm John Harbaugh ten years ago? Most definitely. Now? No. Not that he's a bad coach, far from it. But like us not drafting QBs we need to get off the old, over the hill coach treadmill. Gruden and Caroll fit that for different reasons.

The more I think of Flores he's got Josh McDaniels vibes. I think he'd be a great DC, but as a HC? No again. Add ijn the lawsuit? This or needs less distractions, not more.

The more I think about it Stephanski makes the most sense. Hell, two-time Coach of the Year on the Browns? Only thing that would make it more impressive is if he did it with the Raiders.
Flores went 10-6 witha very poor roster followed up with a 9 and 8 season. He is not Josh McDaniels.
