What changes should the coaching staff make during the bye

What changes should Pete and staff make during the bye?

I think Geno is cooked and if O'Connell is ready he should be starting. Geno is not some newly drafted 1st round pick going through growing pains. Maybe, O'Connell can give the team a spark.

Try adjusting the O-line a bit but I'm sure the coaches think they're playing the best combo of players in that group. Worth trying something new?

Thoughts on what adjustments can be made?

Mark is the problem
Mark is definitely the problem, but the choice to hire Pete Carroll at age 74 is about as questionable as any decision that this org has ever made.

Keeping Pete beyond this season will do nothing but continue to set us back. I would not make any drastic moves in season, continue on with the tank, but next season can not go on like this.

Hire a young motivated coordinator and roll the dice he's the next up and comer.

And what about Spytek? Anyone have confidence that we can go forward with him? Was it just letting Pete have too much say?

Edit PS: Pete cannot rebuild this team, a GM has to. He can guide the culture, but he cannot rebuild a team, not at his age.

Really need to know about the conversations that have gone on behind closed doors, but if Spytek endorsed these moves he shouldn't be safe either.

My feeling is that Pete got a lot of personnel control in this arrangement and likely pushed for his guys.

Dufus is the problem, but I am not sure he picked Pete.

That was my impression too. I was going to start a "What Do You Think About Spytek" thread, but I think you just provided some needed info. We need an INDEPENDENT GM, not tied to a HC. That had to have been Brady's work.

Hire a VP of Football OPs Mark, and go bang strippers.

But who let Pete have so much say in personnel decisions, which he obviously had?

He still runs like he has a steamer in his pants, has still has no pocket presence, and he still can not read progressions. Other than that, he is good to go (hopefully far away).

Seems like Pete wants us to be the Las Vegas Seahawks. He's doing the same thing McDickhead did.

Before the season we heard a lot about Brady either making, or heavily influencing major decisions. If we were 6-1 the Golden Boy would be getting a lot of credit for the turnaround but so far it’s been silence. The buck stops with the owner but it seems likely that the hires weren’t made in a vacuum.

A good question, more people should be asking these questions and fewer people should be assuming they know the answer

Unless someone comes forward, we will likely never know the answer. My assumption is that Mark dolls out control and he gave Carroll governing control but if so he is again to blame. But I am guessing like anyone else

I agree mostly only bc im against the continued change in coaching but hes on a 3y deal and I didn't care for his draft, his free agents, who he let walk and the shuffle of rhe oline.
Meredith was playing well at LG, JPJ played better whwn they moved him to center last year and Parham at least was as average at RG.
Like what is he doing. Tanking purpose?
A WR in r2 when we have so many holes.

Chip may have an scheme that needs two years to get down so im giving him a pass for now especially since we have a bad QB.

All in all its a shitshow

63.7 PFF Grade 2025 at guard
70.7 PFF Grade 2024 at center

Jackson Powers Johnson was absolutely graded out much higher at center. I do wonder if missing those weeks is a factor in the lower grade but even last year his grade was lower at guard, but again that was earlier on before he was moved to center which is likely a factor in the lower grade.

Me personally, wonder if Meredith is better at calling out blocking assignments than Powers Johnson and that is a part of the decision to move them both? We really just don't have all the info to know why the line was shuffled around.

No doubt, the bigger corners in Stokes and Porter. A good blocking WR in Bech a big play threat in Thornton. Power runner in Jeanty. Bringing in DL to rotate and rest. Control the ball, rest the aggressive down hill defense. Similar to his days in Seattle. Now putting all the marbles on Geno....has backfired. Was Carroll connected to Spytek via Davis or Brady?

The should've drafted oline in the 2nd this year not another pass catcher.

Bowers, Mayer, Jacobi, Tucker? Thats not enough?

What has Bech done for the Build? Nothing. It was a poor decision. jmo

I don't think Meredith has called the right blocking assignments. Is he better than JPJ? A 35 year old MLB gets 2 sacks with blitzes in the A gap....that cannot ever happen at the NFL level. That alone is enough for me to get Meredith out of the C role.
