The Off. Line - Complaints, Fixes, Questions, Draft
Mike Tice once said while coaching for the Raiders: “If you look at the offense like a fancy car, the offensive line is the engine. Even though we might have nice spinners and nice rims and tinted windows and some neat paint job, it doesn’t mean crap without the engine. If the engine’s not working, the car might look like a pretty nice car, but it’s a piece of crap.” And he was 100% right. I wish we had him back. Changes must be made on the O-line. Charles Grant is a very athletic lineman. We should give him some reps at right tackle. Bring back Powers-Johnson as the starter at center. Parham has got to go. Maybe we should consider moving Meredith back to guard. He did so well there last year.

Oline has never been Pete’s strength, in Seattle he actually threw a Dlineman on the offensive line lol. With that said Id rather give that monster Tasi a chance over Cappa. Dude is a f[raiders_icon]cking mountain.

Not a bad idea. He was doing really well in the preseason.LayneStaley wrote: Tue Sep 23, 2025 10:57 am Oline has never been Pete’s strength, in Seattle he actually threw a Dlineman on the offensive line lol. Yeah it's a two part issue now coaching and talent, right now it seems the worst of both. Coaching\cohesion has the ability to improve in-season.JRaider17 wrote: Tue Sep 23, 2025 10:43 am Considering it seems every player on the offensive line is confused, it screams coaching. This is just as bad as last years staff in that regard.

I just checked the PFF grades. Meredith isn't doing too bad at center. His overall grade is 62.6. C. Grant's preseason grade was 60. He would make a good replacement for Glaze. It's the guards Parham and Crappa that really suck moose.

Meredith isn’t moving people. If we go by PFF, JPJ had a higher grade at center once he was moved there.erickench wrote: Tue Sep 23, 2025 12:06 pm I just checked the PFF grades. PFF tried to convince me of Andre James for years. Can't take those ratings seriously anymore.

If Parham takes a snap, we deserve to lose.

And Cappa was one of the lowest-rated Guards in the entire NFL last year.... like dead last, or close to it.erickench wrote: Tue Sep 23, 2025 12:06 pm I just checked the PFF grades. Sort of how he got the job because he was college buddies with Brady.

Gotta say it again, I never hated Brady, but it looks like he is more interested in his announcer booth job than fixing the Raiders. The Real CK wrote: Tue Sep 23, 2025 3:50 pm He was in Tampa with Spytek.

So a guy who spent years in the system at Tampa without Brady making his own wayThe Real CK wrote: Tue Sep 23, 2025 3:50 pm He was in Tampa with Spytek.

Was a highly thought of GM candidate who’s name had been thrown around over the last couple of years as the next GM up
Only got the job here simply because he was Brady’s college buddy
Here is me thinking it was because of the years he spent perfecting his craft & was a highly sought after prospect
f[raiders_icon]ck me, the delirium has gotten bad on here
Interesting that one of Brady’s buddies never got the HC gig if that is the case

Respectfully disagree. He got Spytek and Carroll in the house. The proper thing to do now is step back for a couple of years and let them do their jobs without interference, offering advice when asked.raider_kin wrote: Tue Sep 23, 2025 4:40 pm Gotta say it again, I never hated Brady, but it looks like he is more interested in his announcer booth job than fixing the Raiders.

Yeah everyone thought highly of him. There are a few on here jumping through hoops trying to find a little extra negativity. I liked it a lot better when they hid in chatCWood24 wrote: Tue Sep 23, 2025 5:02 pm So a guy who spent years in the system at Tampa without Brady making his own way

Not his job. And if he took a more active role he would be maligned for being a controlling owner. Many reports said he brought a professional and methodical approach to the hiring process. Brought in a firm that specialized in high level hires rather than relying on the old "circle of trust" that was Mark Davis and his dad's old friends. For all intents, Brady put his best foot forward.
