Our team played a lot harder under Gruden then they are under McD.
Our team was also left worse off cap wise & talent wise after Gruden

Gruden set the franchise almost back to the pre Reggie days

My question is that if we get another head coach do we get coach who fits the player we have?

Do we trade Adams & Crosby to get plenty of draft asset to possibly hasten the rebuild

If not we’re gonna be rebuilding for the next 2 years minimum because every new HC we get sets the team back 2 years to rebuild things in there vision

I feel there is sufficient talent on this roster to be an easy .500 team. We have some weak areas, but it is a workable squad with the right coaching.

I think the coaching is pretty damn bad, and they are making the sum of the parts worse. McDaniels should be put on notice that week 17 could very easily be his last week.

Jeff Saturday could get more out of this squad. What a disappointment.

I don't see a difference in play right now.
We could have had Tom Brady, but Gruden stuck with his next door neighbor.
I am not even worried about that anymore. I do agree that his personnel decisions were often horrible. But to suggest he would come back to the NFL and all the sudden he could tear a new asshole to the NFL just to get back at the commish is pretty farfetched to say the least. That argument suggests a person who was content to just do enough to keep their job. But all the sudden he has a desire to really coach to his max abilities. Who wants a clown like that anywhere near a team. I want the guy who has a desire to win at all costs. But, I do believe Gruden wanted to win at all costs but his coaching abilities coupled with god awful personnel decisions limited him, and that also happened when he got to make the personnel decisions in Tampa. When he was in Oakland, Davis was still pretty sharp and we all know he made most of the personnel decisions there. I think Gruden gets a bit of credit for Gannon but I do even buy that completely knowing what we know about Davis's desire to control things.
If they trade Crosby away im gonna be done with this franchise.
Why if you want rid of McDaniels & the whole coaching staff the we’re in rebuild mode so trading Tae & Maxx would be by far the most sensible decision

I would say we could easily get a 1st & 3rd for Adams & in the region of 2 1st for Crosby with some minor pick thrown in

Let's keep the talent we have and build around them.. seems like the most sensible idea. Then again, we are talking about the Raiders...

What i don’t get is that you want a new coach but that coach is gonna draft bust’s if we give him picks, which is a bit backwards because if the new coach is just gonna blow picks then just stick with the old coach & let him build it another year
I hate to say it.... but it's probable that Gruden's lawsuit is going to embarrass Goodell, the optics will favor Gruden, and Gruden will be hired to finish the job
Ugh.. You might not be far off. Could be the reason why Mark endorses and has expressed patience in the current regime. If they turn it around and right the ship, everyone wins. If they falter after his "patience" runs out... It would be in time for Gruden to be reinstated. You might be on to something :astonished:
Those are exceptions to the rule and are incredibly rare.

Belichick was a retread 23 years ago
Carroll was 13 years ago
Reid was ridiculously successful for a long time in Philly and everyone wanted him once they let him go.

The vast majority of retreads suck balls.
Not the point. The point is the 3 best coaches (or 3 of the best) arguably in football are retreads. The margin of error in picking a coach is too thin to have a dumb hard and fast rule like “no retreads”.

There’s a clear difference between the Doug Pedersons of the world and the Josh McDanielses of the world.

You don’t explain that away by saying “they’re the exception to the rule”. You just don’t have the dumb rule in the first place.
