30 plus touchdown seasons.
...
There are quite a few Lamonica threw 34 in 1969.
A high of 32 isn't special. Tannehill and Cousins have bested it. Scott Mitchell matched it. Jackson has beat it and supposedly he can't throw.
Pretty sure I saw Philip Rivers in that list 5 times...

This whole Thread should not be focused on Carr's stats, but does he have the Ball's to Step Up in crunch time..the EYE test says NO!! Will the new Regime make him grow some ball's? I Highly doubt it...just saying!

As of now, Carr has never been elite, never!
The question is will he ever? I don't know, but surrounded him with a bunch of weapons and elite play calling will help elevate Carr's play, not the other way around.
Ravens won a Superbowl with Joe Flacco and Trent Dilfer, so you really don't need an elite QB to win it all, but the niners had a top 5 defense and top 5 rushing attack, yet couldn't win it all either.
As of now Carr is a loser, and honestly all I've ever wanted from Carr is to see him give his all. He has all the physical tools and if he left it all on the field, I would respect that but a honest observer can see he has quit on his team various times.
Remember Max Kellerman said that about him and Carr got triggered? Carr has done many things throughout his career that are proof of quitting on the football field. I honestly don't see Carr winning it all because his flaws have been the same ones since college and one receiver isn't going to change that imo.
Maybe McDaniels can work miracles with Carr, but until games are actually played I ain't buying.

statistically he may have his best season. He may personal best his TD total. He does have an additional game to do it in. all of this may happen. It is when it matters most that I need to see a change. I don't want to hear "there was one read on the play" or some bullshit. Frankly this is like season 4 of "no more excuses" and yet we keep getting them. I want to see a guy who back pedals and does not feel phantom pressure that makes him throw into triple coverage. I want to see him back pedal and out of the corner of his eye sees a TE breaking free as he finishes the flag route and cradles the ball into his hands for the TE,
so statistically means exactly dick. I want the guy who throws TDs in the red zone. So throw out your stats all you want, because the results of all those stats have resulted in one of the biggest circle jerks I have ever seen.
now we are moving the goalposts. But the 2016 yards are tied for 233rd all time and his TDs are not even worth looking up the rankings. The one claim to fame he gets is 7 come from behind wins. Beyond that, he played more aggressively than at any point in his career.
Not seeing how the goal posts were moved at all.
Yes. Even in 2016 Carr wasn’t elite and had major flaws. His performance in 2016 was exciting because it looked like he was on his way, but even in 2016 I didn’t regard him as a finished product. It was more exciting because it felt like the start of something more so than because Carr was actually elite. That was supposed to be the beginning of the journey, not the climax. Now that we know that it’s his peak, yes it’s a low bar.
I don't know, I just don't see many QBs hitting that 28 Passing TDs and just 6 INT. Just seems like a top 10 fringe bar, which may not be high but certainly isn't low.

Then immediately mention you want a QB who throws TDs in the red zone. Seems like we both want/expect TDs.

At this time, Derek's Carr is #11 in the league but he will easily drop to #15 in a few years. Kyler Murray and Larmar Jackson are up shortly who will make much more than Carr. In a few seasons, Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert will be so much, it will take a good portion of the whole team's salary cap. I am expecting both Justin and Joe to make over $50 million a season.

Most touchdowns Carr has ever thrown in 1 season in his entire career is 32.
Using best season touchdown stats going back to 1921. Carr is tied at 90th.

'23 is 35.
'24 and '25 are 43.5 iirc.
It was a great contract still. If he is not worth it or someone else looks better, he is a pretty small deadcap. The cap should be 280ish last I heard by '26, if he is worth it, we can make it work.
Those other QBs will make more because they are better, but they will be expensive. 50 sounds spot on.

You want to eliminate names because some QB’s have accomplished great touchdown seasons more than once?
