You think it a down year league wide, you think he woudn't finish top 5 other years. I stated he finished 3rd in MVP voting which is factual. He threw 28 TDs with just 5 INTs in 5 games, again these are not opinions these are facts.
Regardless if you think it was an MVP caliber year or not, the reality is that is not a low bar.
We are still going to act like its a low bar though?
He wasnt even close in the MVP voting & just like a SB if you dont win none of it matters, Russell Wilson has never had even one MVP vote whatsoever but he does have what really matter a SB ring
23 TD to 22 TO ( took out the 5 recovered fumbles isnt elite it isnt even average all this bullshit about Carr getting shafted well everybody else on the team had the same playing field & most of them stepped up when needed whilst Carr hid behind his D & his kicker for god same even Zay Jones stepped his game up on the run in
Another little stats in his last 11 games last year Carr went for 12 TD’s & has 16 TO’s that is backup stats which makes me wonder how in the hell did we even make the playoffs with this guy
If Carr isn’t good & plays average without any “talent”as we keep hearing that would mean even with talent he still wouldn't be good it would be those around him that were good

I said he would most likely have the best year of his career, I was told its a low bar, I pointed out a year he had a good year (actually had 2) showing that the bar isn't low.

The simple fact is Carr gets judge on his latest performances & those have been inconsistent as hell & was carried by his team last year when push came to shove
23 TD’s & 22 TO’s is pedestrian
12 TD’s & 16 TO’s over the the last 11 games is back up material i mean everyone else step up why didnt Carr

I made no bones about that in what I wrote. No where in my post you just quoted did I state my opinion as a fact. Pony up and stop hiding behind your facts and express your opinion of your numbers. Oh, and interestingly enough, his coming in third? That very number is based on opinions. So your fact of his being third is really just a glorified opinion of others.

Carr cant score enough & turns the ball over to much that says it all

Kinda of like those contract year performances
Could be an outlier, just saying he had a good season in 2015, and then another good one in 2016. Hasn't been able to really come close since though.

I said he would most likely have the best year of his career, I was told its a low bar, I pointed out a year he had a good year (actually had 2) showing that the bar isn't low.
Guess, I am being a bit of a pessimist lately. I actually see a scenario where Carr has his best year - stat wise, and the Raiders do not make the playoffs next season.
The Chargers had a huge weakness last season on defense and appear determined to fix it this offseason. There was never anything wrong with their offense. They were 5th in scoring last season. Herbert will have yet another year of experience under his belt and he may actually be better in 2022.
The Chiefs lost Hill. A huge loss. But they have 8 picks in the first four rounds. While they may not have the same dynamic passing attack, they may get better and deeper at other positions. Anyone counting on the Chiefs taking a huge step back, I think, will be greatly disappointed.
The Broncos have talent on their roster. But they were 23rd in scoring and that will not win many games. That said, the Raiders were not THAT much better being 18th in scoring. The Broncos did have a good defense and were second in the league in points allowed. Yes, it could be argued that teams did not have to put up a lot of points to beat them. But damn, like I said, the Raiders only managed 2 more points a game than the Broncos while the Raiders gave up 7 more a game. Biggest weakness the Broncos suffered last season was at QB. If Russell comes in and has a comeback season and reinvigorates his career....the Broncos could become a very difficult team to beat.
So yes, Carr may have the best year of his career. And I can see that happening, but will it mean that the Raiders win? I am not so sure. Overall yardage stats mean squat. If that is the only stat that improves the Raiders are doomed.
IF Carr is to lead the Raiders into the playoffs, he will have to be MUCH better in the red zone, he will have to fumble less, he will have to be able to improvise and make plays when things go sideways, he will have to take advantage of open field and run the damn ball when it is there, he will have change his propensity for giving up on plays and will have to play well late in the season. He will have to play his best in the face of adversity. While he may have gained an outstanding weapon, it looks to me like the teams he will face on the other side are set to wreak havoc as well and Carr better make a friend to adversity because I think he will see a lot more of it this upcoming season. The AFC West is going to be war, and his fortitude is going to be tested.
Yes, Carr's overall stats may improve but next season may come down to which QBs refuse to fold when things go awry...it may just come down to those few plays a season where we see which QB will refuse to lose and which are ill equipped to rise to the occasion. It is these moments where it will be decided.
Question is not whether or not Carr will improve his yardage stat, but rather will he rise to the occasion in those moments that matter most. Because something tells me there are going to be a lot of those moments because there is little separating the talent level between the four teams in the AFC West.
Just my take.

Just my take.
Just to be clear, when I say Carr will have his best year I am not talking yardage, as you have sort of stated, its kind of an empty stat at times. I fully expect Carr to be at 30+ TDs, which puts him in play for his highest of his career. Too many variables to try and predict how it impacts win totals though.

It sure feels like every off season we are all thinking/wishing/hoping that Derek will arrive and carry the Raiders to Glory. Every year disappoints....then excuses......then off season......then hope again.......OK, year 9....heres to hoping he plays with balls dropped.

I do see a scenario where it does not.
