to to infuse some newness into the discussion, how do your scheme against this offense next year if you are an opposing DC? and if you want to go advanced on the question, pick a team and their current defense and specifically discuss. I am curious on both sides of the discussion how you beat this offense.

I just do not think you can beat this offense blitzing. You really need to play a nickel against these guys and force Carr to nickel and dime the ball. Keeping everything in front of you and let your Dline try to rattle the offense straight up. You cannot cover Waller with linebackers and honestly you cannot beat Jacobs in the passing game with linebackers either. The one guy who is toughest to scheme against using this defense is not Adams but Renfrow. When it comes to the possession game, Renfrow may be without peer. But I digress, as the offense moves into the red zone, the defense actually has more of an advantage because that nickel and dime offense becomes pretty much the entire offense because they will have less room to try to stretch the defense. That is how I see you beating this offense. Hitting Carr has always been the blueprint but that is to make him make mistakes. Making the offense a short pass offense is how you beat these guys if you cannot rattle Carr.

Rush 4. Disguise pre snap. Give Carr one pre snap so he decides where he is going with the ball. Take the read away post snap. Force him to go through progressions which he doesn’t do very well
