Yes, you proclaimed it, I have no idea how old you are but that is what you called yourself.

At the end of the day, I want very badly for all of Raider Nation to be excited for this team in December/January. We may feel differently today, but I hope we feel the same then. Who gives a crap about the names on the back of the jersey, it is about the decal on the helmet.
lol, my how we change things up. Now you want me to be excited later in the year, earlier your hope was that I was excited now.

and no, despite you not knowing, I did not self proclaim. I acknowledged a fact many around here know about me. Your lack of knowledge does not change that fact.
Said no one, ever.

I Just don't believe he is the real problem with this team as it is constructed, and apparently neither does the brass of the Raiders, or his teammates, or his coaches.

I am very excited about this team! I am looking forward to seeing what this team can do with all the pieces in place, but if some of the flaws of DC are not overcome even with all of the help, then I can see them moving on. But I won't pretend to be Nostradamus here nor will I pretend that DC has ever had anything close to what he has at his disposal now. Again, I am pretty excited and I hope you are too.
Not a huge Car fan, but find your post refreshing and on point. Am stoked about the upcoming season. Make or break season for DC, simple as that. Gonna be fun watching AFC west teams playing each other.

Carr hurts the offense because he doesn't move in the pocket much, mainly plays statue. He doesn't move in the pocket to give routes time to develop and makes the job more difficult for the
Oline because Carr won't extend plays with his legs the majority of the time. Carr needs to work on moving around in the pocket, by at least stepping up in the pocket when it breaks down etc....
Got it. You can't be a fan of Fresno State and support their alums and also be a Raider fan.

I've been a Raider fan far longer than a Fresno State fan, and because some believe DC is not the problem, we are labeled idiots. Solid post, bringing great content.
I don't think many would care at all if fans were Fresno St. fans or not just like I could care less when someone likes USC or Alabama.

However, a sizable contingent of central valley st. fans seem hellbent on acting like a bunch of bizarre mouth breathing idiot Qb cult followers rather than Raider fans.

It gets old when people make valid points about a Qb's play and the same standard deflect tactics come up over and over and behave like it's a crime to critique a Qb.

The brutal truth is the team is in Qb purgatory and in its final stage before a tear down in a few years. They are going all in to try to make things as "perfect," as possible around him to try to win it all and if it doesn't work there will likely be a rebuild in 2-3 years.

The reality is the Raiders Qb is on par with Kirk Cousins. Slightly above average but needs everything perfect around him to have a realistic chance at a championship. Upper tier running game, great O-line, Top tier at all the skill positions, and an elite defense to have a realistic shot at a championship.

Basically a good enough player for a team to be scared to get rid of and bad enough for fans of other teams to rejoice when the Raiders keep him.

Without all of the above the ceiling is about 10-11 wins and perhaps 1 playoff win, same as about what Kirk Cousins has done in his career.

KC and their saga with Alex Smith were in a similar position. He just needs more weapons, he needs a better defense, he needs this and that before they said the hell with it and picked up Mahomes. Dallas is going through the same Qb purgatory as well, they are just at an earlier stage of the process.

The real top tier Qb's elevate the players around them and don't need everything else to be perfect.
That's not the Raiders Qb.

After the 4-game win streak to put us in last year it was all love in this place. Ultimately, every single person on this site wants success for the team and even Carr "haters" around here jump on the bandwagon come playoff time.

Not enough data to determine a playoff bandwagon.

Agree that when the Raiders win we are all happy. When we lose most are not happy.

As much bad stuff I talk about Carr, I hope he does well this season. The better he does, the better our team will do. I still want to trade him but on gameday I hope he proves all of us doubters wrong and that wouldnt upset me one bit.

For you younger guys who want to make that theme about anything other than that, you are far wrong. I would cheer on Russell if he got us a deep playoff run and that ginormous turd deserves nothing but my scorn. Ultimately, if we make a playoff run, all the Carr guys are going to credit the guy after repeatedly telling me why it was not his fault. Ironic isn't it? You are going to point to the guys who hate Carr who you think will jump on his bandwagon, while telling us that Carr won a playoff game.

And that is why I wait and see. the odds makers in Vegas do not have us sniffing a deep playoff run let alone a win in the playoffs. I hope they are wrong but the odds makers have a better track record than folks around here.
the most obvious statement in sports during change is "time will tell." Unless the world comes to an end, time is the great determiner. Since we are not to that point, we do not have the info needed to know the result.

which brings us to reality. Not knowing the result of a future sporting season, it allows us the great opportunity to discuss the potentials and end results. It allows us to agree/disagree/bash/compliment in conversation. The very purpose of a sports message board is just that. Without the discussion of the potential futures based on incomplete information, the message board grows quiet and dies.

So celebrate the fact that we cannot rely on time to tell us the result. Time, actually, is the great enemy of the message board since it takes the guess work out of the conversation.
Well said and I agree. I was just reacting to a phrase (which I've used before of course), that I've seen so much in the past 30 years it actually causes an almost hysterical physical response.

After I'd said it before, seen it for days on end, I considered it literally saying nothing. Superfluous. Typing words, that we all know are the case and add nothing. It is also 100% true.

No insult intended. Just reacting.

Can we stop the pissing matches over who’s a more beleaguered fan and discuss Carr please?
