So they actually did it. The worst QB in the division, the biggest pussy to ever don the Silver and Black, is now being paid like he's elite... with no trade clause of course. Just mind numbing.

[/quote]And the Carr fans rejoice. I'd really like to meet you some day, see if you've got the same set of balls face to face.

We needed someone to spread the ball around next year, we also need someone if we do draft a guy in '23 or '24. I like the plan of sitting the rookie fora year until you know you have something better.
It all comes down to guaranteed money. If this is like Davante, a large part of the contract numbers could be smoke and mirrors. His final non-guanteed year was a ridiculous number we will not be paying. Locking in Carr for two or even three years is ok in my mind.
I never expected otherwise for this signing, and Attyla warned us of the 40 number so that came easy also.
Carr is a 12 to 15 QB. 4 years ago he was an 18-21 QB. There is progress, and alot of the old regime QBs are retiring which helps as well.
I still don't believe he takes us deep in any playoff run and he remains a placeholder, but you can't have Rosen out there when you have Waller, Renfrow, Jacobs, and Adams as targets.

Another good one about 'responsibility'.

Now that Carr got an extension, this thread also got at least 3 years.

It would be just like us to draft a mid round QB like EJ Perry or Kaleb Eleby then they beat Carr out to start after signing this deal
With what we’ve spent & the stupid ass no trade clause i’m hoping it doesnt happen or we’ll be saddle with him unless he retires if it does

As long as Mark Davis is the owner of the Raiders, Derek Carr will be a Raider for life.
