Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide
Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

Comparing Evans personality to moss. Evans has never been a diva or problem. If that’s where you’re trying to take the argument it’s just futile. Rice and brown were that guy. We weren’t talking about bringing in Randy moss.

Just bc he hasn't been a diva (which i agree with) doesnt mean he wants to spend his last year(s) mentoring and teaching other WRs. The mentoring nonsense needs to stop. This isn't the 90s.Raidernation1979 wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 1:50 pm Comparing Evans personality to moss. Evans has never been a diva or problem. I swear some of y’all must’ve never played football or any team sport. Teammates don’t tend to exist in a vacuum. We worked together and help each other get better. Even during the game with tips and tricks about what you see a player doing and how I can help your teammate.

Go get Brian Thomas. He can be had, he is young, and we could buy low. We have done business with the Jags before, why not now?

The idea that a premiere player past his prime but looking for one last contract and maybe a shot at another ring would want to go to a team so he can become a teacher for the very guys that are going to eventually put him out of a job? Who was the last guy who chose to go to a team to be a teacher? Honest question.

Wasn't Jerry Rice one of the guys that said something along the lines of, " f[raiders_icon]ck the young guys"?

Snowden got the ERFA tender - this is just a minimum deal without guarantees so it's a no-brainer for the team. It's hardly news.

Putnam also got the ERFA tender - even though he's been a marginal player, this is still a no brainer because it's cheap and cuttable at any time.

I'm sure Kyu Blu Kelly will also get the ERFA tender.
The bigger question is whether they use RFA tenders on Meredith or Booker or re-sign either of them.

A couple things I wanted to touch on that I heard posted. There’s definitely some good targets, I’ve said a few I like. But just wanted to touch on three that I disagree with.
Trey Hendrickson - He is absolutely not close to or, equal to Maxx. Maxx is an elite two way player. Run stopping & pass rusher. While always doubled, tripled & schemed against. A nonstop motor, great locker room guy, great work ethic, elite leadership, & overall culture guy. Hendrickson is known as more of a pass rush specialist. Not a run stopper. He was more a selfish stats guy. Also not known as a great locker room guy anywhere near the level of Maxx. He’s also 3yrs older. & someone wants him at the same price tag? I’d take him around 15mil, maybe for a year. But he ain’t taking that. So, likely a no on him for me.
Devin White - Why the hell are people wanting to resign him? He was absolutely terrible this season. I wouldn’t even want him if he was playing for free. He shouldn’t even be taking up a roster spot.
Mike Evans - I get the career he had. His skill set, really any player in the NFL can drop off cliff but, his skill set even more so. The taller, technical, slower guys. & that’s because of the speed. Did you see what he looked like this past season? In the games he played, he may have had spurts of low end #2 at best. He mostly looked like a solid #3, but missed half the season. He was clocked well below his avg play speed this year compared to the rest of his career. & his price tag is probably close to 20mil. I’d say a definite no for me. I’d hate it at that price.
Just wanted to throw in, can’t believe Bills gave up a 2nd for Moore. Terrible trade. Especially with that contract. Shoulda been a 4th at best.
