Dubow is an example of the new '1 sentence' journalism.

He doesn't have to prove anything because he doesn't actually say anything.

Stats are numbers, they don't determine which team wins a Super Bowl or which team goes 0-17.

Dubow repeatedly posts that the sun will set... and imply that it is because Carr sucks.

Dude... the sun sets, regardless of what Carr's stats were. Get over yourownself!

Dubow adds nothing, he's not even funny. '1 sentence journalist.' He should buy himself an award the next time he visits a carnival.

When I was in college, the English professor would slap you for trying to get away with a '1 sentence' article. :flex:

And I learned in philosophy class that the answer to every Dubow Tweet is...

"So what?"

Twitter is replacing journalism because real journalists can’t keep up with the tweets. Tweeting info bypasses editing and fact checking. Recently read that articles are also kept shorter than 5 minute reads because if they go longer, they lose their audience. Real journalism? That’s so 1980’s. Back to Josh, he’s a funny dude.

PS soon enough most articles will be written even faster by artificial intelligence but that is another discussion ;)
What do they see in him? I don't get it. He's an average quarterback.
Not sure why you are asking me. I have never written anything on this forum to suggest Carr is elite, in fact, I was one of the first to question his fortitude way back when.

I simply stated that I think if Carr signs a contract it will be between 40 and 43 million. No where have I stated that I think he is worth it. But that is simply my guess given the two parties involved. I do believe Mark will be involved and I do believe Carr overvalues himself and will be asking for top dollar.

You may have made a mistake and quoted me and if not, well, my guess at the contract has nothing to do with what I personally think of his value.

he has 280 characters to make a point, it is not journalism, it is twitter, when he writes articles, they are articles, not one sentence
He doesn't have to prove anything because he doesn't actually say anything.
all evidence to the contrary, he says a lot, you just lack the ability to read
Stats are numbers, they don't determine which team wins a Super Bowl or which team goes 0-17.
of course they do, you just have to know how to manage numbers. I thought you studied math, sure could fool me
Dubow repeatedly posts that the sun will set... and imply that it is because Carr sucks.
no, he posts stats and they bash Mr Popularity so you are offended.
Dude... the sun sets, regardless of what Carr's stats were. Get over yourownself!
he has never posted about the sun setting, but cool story, fiction but cool story
Dubow adds nothing, he's not even funny. '1 sentence journalist.' He should buy himself an award the next time he visits a carnival.
you ad nothing, you are not funny, and you still post

cool story again, total fiction but cool story

If Dubow posts anything about the team in general, someone will reply that it's not Carr's fault, and then it goes down the Carr rabbit hole again and people keep saying "what about it" trying to find certain scenarios and context to lay Carr blameless and it never works.

Dubow consistently says that Carr is, in his estimation, about 12th best QB in the game. That's not bad. The problem is that the people firing back at him want a lot more. Which makes it easy for Dubow to respond. He doesn't have to be smart, just smarter than the people arguing with him.
Agree about Carrs rank.
And PLEASE understand I'm in no way making excuses.
I'm from the school where if a QB is ranked 12 surrounding him with a stable coaching staff with the same playbook to master and a elite WR for more than 2 years at a clip would change his rank higher.

There's no doubt a player like Davante can separate. Theres no arguing Carrs accuracy.

I truely believe the organization over the past 8 years has been a shit show from defense to WR to changing schemes to massive turnover in players. Massive missed draft picks, terrible trades, the list goes on. This, imo, hurts the team and in the end hurts the record; which for some reason Carr and the HC own by themselves.

Mahomes who is head and heels better than Carr and always will be, HAS had some remarkable targets over his short NFL career. His coaching is off the charts compared to what we've had over 8 years. Not including this new staff we've had from top to bottom (position coaches include) about 35 coaching changes.

That ranks right up there with the Jets and Jags. See their records.

Carr certainly has his short comings, its no secret but the team in general has had massive short comings and that seems to be a secret bc no one talks about how many wins it has cost them.

I'm not here to argue if Carr can carry a team by himself, he can't.
I just want to express and hopefully find some common ground about the Raiders team.
I think he is able to trigger so many is because he brings actual stats to the table and his target is often someone who many believe to be much better than he actually is. He gets on some people's nerves simply because he is effective at bursting bubbles. IF he was simply a troll or someone who came with nothing but blind hatred, I suspect no one would follow or read his stuff. But, he does bring interesting stats to the table and often they are worth considering.
I don’t know if there’s another fan base nearly as divided on their current QB as the Raiders. Maybe cousins or Dak but then those are 2 generally well run teams. I’d argue carr is kind of the low-hanging fruit of QBs to go after. You could probably pick either side of the Carr argument and safely assume you’ll draw outrage from half the fan base.

When they drafted PM the thread went ballistic. There were still some Alex Smith lovers that still wanted him over Mahomes…….only briefly lol.

I remember posting on there asking why they would want to get rid of Smith. He was taking them to the playoffs and they always seemed just a player or a play away from being serious contenders.

Generally I was told that if I watched him every game like they did then I'd see what they were talking about. They told me I'd see all the plays that weren't made that were there to be made, failing to see the field well enough, falling apart when it mattered most, etc.

Sounds familiar.

Can’t speak for everyone but I imagine if we landed a mahomes… even the most adamant Carr supporters would be thrilled.

I’d love to have seen CP had they landed a Trubisky :bawling:

Spending resources to get a QB might result in Trubisky. It might result in Mahomes. Staying with Carr will result in Carr
And Alex Smith level of play is carrs ceiling.
Agree. Carr is good enough to win a super bowl if he is carried by a top surrounding crew. He is no Brady or Mahomes for sure but he is capable of a super bowl if surrounded by enough talent. Pats West is stacking the offense as we speak and Mad Maxx just got a payday. Hoping the Raiders haven’t blown their financial wad too soon especially if they foolishly decide to pay mediocre Carr to some bizarre obscene contract lol…..If Carr lands another insane contract the Raiders are doomed for the length of that contract
