If Carr wins the MVP is that a QB specific award or is that a team award?
If Carr wins MVP & doesn't win a ring would that be considered a choke?
For some the Raiders are just a Carr delivery and welfare system.
What actually happens beyond what is good or can be spun as good for Carr is irrelevant and tedious.
or "almost 13-3" since "almost" can allow us to hijack the thread into "The NFL is out to get us" which is an off season tradition.
At this point, a thread being hijacker to anything other than another tedious, worn out, Carr thread, and making this place less of a nuisance to try and navigate, is somewhat welcome.
Ok, I agree, but when Brady won his MVP 'S, they went to the Superbowl. When Gannon won his, the Raiders went to the Superbowl. So if Carr gets MVP, then I think theres a higher possibility of us getting to the Superbowl, cause that means we are playing well.. Besides, I never said he would win it, I just believe he will be up there this year because if our offseason.. just my opinion. I'm just hoping for a great Raiders season.
the regular season MVP actually has a far less chance of winning the Super Bowl than you think. We just had the 56th Super Bowl and only 10 of them also included the MVP. Ironically, of the 7 Super Bowl wins Brady has celebrated, he was the regular season MVP only in 2017. So again, I could give one rats ass about the MVP, I want the ring. We have a far better chance of getting the ring if Carr plays team ball and not MVP ball.
Carr wins the MVP this place will self destruct…lol
Why?
That’s means he played well above his average and we had a great season.

I am far more interested in Carr doing what is necessary for the team to win and not protecting his numbers by checking down a hail mary or throwing it away on 4th down because he might throw an INT. At times I find his decision making abilities highly suspect and not sure he is playing for himself or for the team. I have never seen a QB's play so impacted by self preservation.
I watch QBs do everything they can to make it work on third downs, running the ball, or scrambling shaking off would be tackles and fighting tooth and nail for that first down and then I watch Carr.
I am sorry but I do think you can surround Carr with talent but he will never get it done. He simply lacks the mental fortitude in the toughtest and biggest moments to get it done. Unless there is a HUGE change in the manner he approaches his job, I really do not see the Raiders ever winning a SB with Carr at the helm.
Yes, he has arm talent and definitely can rack up the yards, especially when teams play prevent and rush three. When Carr feels safe, he can bring it. He would be an outstanding flag football QB. But the NFL is not flag football and I do think that next year, the AFC West will be war this upcoming season and have no faith in the guy at the helm leading the offense to wreak the necessary havoc in the biggest moments when adversity defines the moment.

Now this might not be legit but maybe, McDaniels has Ivan's ear like Dan Snyder....

Foles is trash & Carr is actually good. It’s not even close. Nothing more needs to be said.
I really hope they do not get Foles. I know it won’t cost hardly a thing but, there’s no good reason for it.

Foles would be a good option as a backup (as long as we pay less than we did for MM last season). I think even those who hate DC would have to admit Carr is better than Foles (and it is not even close not that it is saying much). If Carr goes down more than a few games we are toast (just like any other team losing their starting QB). We would be in much worse shape considering the strength of our division as there are no games where we would get a week off like other divisions. I am hesitant on paying crazy money for a backup TBH.

My point is Carr can be good at times but I am against wasting elite money on him. He isn't close to being elite by any stretch but will likely get a stupid contract.

So many of you are so darn worried about a big extension it is raised in multiple threads every day. And, if he is extended, who knows what it will look like.

Well, that is EXACTLY what we are saying. BEFORE extending Carr, see what the hell he does in Josh's system and THEN extend him. IF the new regime comes out and states that they will be pushing off the extension till next offseason than you will not read another post about it.
But I find it ironic that you are telling fans who have no stake in the situation to just wait and see how it turns out before posting, BUT you appear to have a problem with posters who want the new regime to wait and see how it turns it out BEFORE investing huge amounts of $ and future cap space.
P.S. And IF you think that the contract will not be huge, then you are dreaming.

Nope. Tons of posts already protesting ANY extension for Carr. Most all are not wait and see. They are positively against any extension — all based on past performance. I am in agreement with your position of wait and see.

A huge extension and more of the same with Carr is a scenario I do not even want to consider. At least give the regime one year to see what he can actually do in their system before making a huge commitment.
He is under contract. Not sure why the new regime would consider doing it at this time. In my opinion, it makes no sense.

It’s repetitive and isn’t getting anywhere. “I will so pissed if they.....”
