Tell me this, would you rather have:
Mendoza (compares to Goff/Matt Ryan)
Or
Moore (compares to CJ Stroud) + 1, 2, or 3 extra first round picks.
The intriguing thing about Moore, is he is only 20, and has potentially more room to grow.
The way I see it, we aren’t going to win the SB next year, so I’m not worried about letting Moore grow for a year.
Now if Mendoza is considered to be the next Brady, then I wouldn’t trade for 5 extra firsts…..
I mean if that's your argument then why wouldn't the Jets be fine taking him at two while keeping all those picks to build around him? The jets may have thought about moving up if they were outside of the top 2, but there is no way they are giving up that kind of capital to move up to one.

Dismissing a person's character is what got us Russell. To win games you need to be a leader, have personal responsibility and integrity. Combine that with immense football skill and you have yourself something.
For sure. Mendoza appears to be the bizaro Jamarcus.

Pretty tired of all the comps. Everyone is different with so many variables.
Here's a comp for you. Mendoza is a more athletic and smarter version of Tom Brady.

I cannot wait for the day when people are comparing a prospect to Mendoza because he is that good.

The four layers of making the #1 pick
Layer One - Current film of player's playing history to date
Layer Two - Injury during the CFB Playoffs
Layer Three - Combine results
Layer Four - Personal interview

Just watched a video from Todd McShay. He said he would take Moore at #1 if he were the Raiders. He said if you're looking to win games in the immediate future, Mendoza is your guy BUT he would put his career and his family's income (his words) that over a 10 year career, Moore is the guy.
Do not shoot the messenger, I do not agree with Todd. He did say he's intrigued to watch Mendoza vs Moore this weekend.

I listened to his podcast this morning where he mocked Moore to us. I find it interesting to hear the arguments, even though I disagree. It's interesting that he believes that Moore's greater need for development would be a fit for the Raiders who he thinks are better equipped to handle that than the Jets would be.
His discussion of both players actually made me want Mendoza more, even though he mocked Moore #1. It was a bit like he was arguing against his own conclusion.
I'm happy to hear the discussion over the coming months...... I suspect I won't be moved off Mendoza but listening is still invormative.

It does coincide with the higher ceiling argument for Moore.
However, of course they're (Raiders) looking to win games in the immediate future. I don't think the Raiders will have the patience to hope Moore turns into what he could be if he doesn't come out and play well right out of the gate.

Agreed. This weekend's game will sure be interesting. I highly doubt I'll be moved toward the Moore direction either.

There is something to be said for playing devils advocate to both things you agree with and things you disagree with.

I would imagine the Mendoza camp is stating they're just focused on the CFB playoffs and the Oregon ducks and aren't even thinking about the NFL right now.

I’ve seen people say multiple times Moore has a higher ceiling. What makes his ceiling higher?

He's the worst Oregon QB to come out in awhile. Herbert and Nix were both slept on. Moore is an objectively bad prospect but all of a sudden Oregon's system is reliable, and there's no clear #2 in this class after Mendoza. Moore is a product of the algo, he's a bad prospect.
