Cousins signs with Raiders

Preseason will be interesting. Will Cousins play a possession or two and then Mendoza play the rest of the half? Will Cousins and Mendoza both play a quarter or more with the starters? Will preseason be a "true" QB competition or are their starting roles already penciled in?

Usually the guy who is penciled in as the starter gets a few reps in the first couple games to get his timing down. We are in an unusual situation as we have brought in a vet with a larger number of starts in his career and will also be drafting the top QB in the draft. I anticipate Cousins gets the nod in the first game with Mendoza doing a lot of clean up work. But we will have a couple other QBs on the roster to finish games. Not sure how this plays out but my guess is that Cousins gets a drive in each of the first two games and Mendoza gets the rest of the first half. The camp fodder guys get the second half to get beat up.

He looked horrible last year, he is 47 years old and he has never been proven to be able to mentor a guy. Penix liking him means little. My eyes are wide open and whet I saw last year was a guy on a steep decline.
