Yeah I hate that. And if Mark is doing that, and Brady only answers to Mark, then we are honestly f[raiders_icon]cked IMO.Corleone wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:16 pm Ahh, but that's exactly the reason Mark brought him in, in hopes that Tom would take over the football operation side.

Well it's happening, he said it clearly yesterday in his post conference interview.bringdafunk wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:25 pm Yeah I hate that. And if Mark is doing that, and Brady only answers to Mark, then we are honestly f[raiders_icon]cked IMO.
Makes sense Brady only answers to Mark.
Mark says he's tried everything and now he's trying this with Tom.

Yes I want Mark to step away, I don't want him to step away and let Brady do all the shit he was doing. This Guerrero dude rubbed people the wrong way in NE, and apparently he is doing it here as well. The real question is if a dietician is the one who told Maxx he wasn't going to play. If you have people in the background saying that they feel like the team dietician is the defacto assistant GM, that is a f[raiders_icon]cking problem.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:24 pm Brady's #1 is Spytek. Guerrero was hired to curate diets and workout regimen. It's absolutely his call along with the team doctor to determine whether a guy is healthy enough to work out. He's also probably spearheading Maxx's rehab.
Do folks want Mark to step away or not? This is what that looks like. You can't just go back on your word the minute the prized player wants the program to change to suit him.

What was Mark doing that Brady is now doing? Genuinely curious here. I'm trying to figure out what to hate Mark over because bipolar nation shifts to suit their needs. I do agree though that Guerrero being called assistant GM is weird. I actually think Guerrero is a lunatic. His job is 100% to determine Maxx can harm his long term playing ability. But if he's demanding to be the bearer of bad news that is absolutely weird. I'm just befuddled as to how this is Mark's fault.bringdafunk wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:28 pm Yes I want Mark to step away, I don't want him to step away and let Brady do all the shit he was doing. Well yeah I'm not saying Brady should answer to anyone other than Mark, I'm just saying Mark isn't going to have the balls to shut down bullshit.SkullCrusher wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:28 pm Well it's happening, he said it clearly yesterday in his post conference interview.

Team doctor would be the guy to determine when a player is healthy enough to work out after a surgery. No one without some level of a medical degree would be a decision maker on that. That would be doctors, occupational therapists, nurses, not a nutrition guy who also sets workout schedules. Guerrero would not be doing anything but scheduling what the medical staff sets up. This is in my wheelhouse so I know this is true. Could the guy overstep? Sure, but Maxx is an athlete so has been around the medical side for years and would know who sets his schedule.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:24 pm Brady's #1 is Spytek. As for who is in charge? My guess it depends on what decisions have to be made. Doctor is in charge of getting Maxx healthy. Doofus is in charge of the money things. Spytek is in charge of getting the product on the field. Brady, who knows, he has been told to take a firmer hand on the tiller but who really knows?
Cause at the end of the day he is the majority owner of the team. If Brady is bringing people in, and they are operating outside of their scope and it is causing friction with key players on the team, he needs to step in and fix it since it's Brady's guy. Spytek isn't going to have a say. Now to be clear, this is all purely based on hearsay and this could all be bullshit, but I honestly feel that Brady is having his guys operate outside of their hired on roles and responsibilities. It just feels off.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:33 pm What was Mark doing that Brady is now doing? Genuinely curious here. True, but if there is any truth to the reports that people feel that he is operating as an assistant GM then one could imagine that he is doing more than just scheduling medical stuff.Attyla wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:37 pm Team doctor would be the guy to determine when a player is healthy enough to work out after a surgery. Team doctor is tasked with the diagnosis yes, but they're not making the call. They're offering their expert opinion and the team plans accordingly. They're not decision makers, no. Clearly guys play injured all the time, despite doctors orders. There is a risk evaluation made based off of a doctor's diagnosis. Most times that falls onto the GM but in our case, according to rumors Guerrero is called the "assistant GM." Maybe Spytek is asking him to watch film, but my guess is he's determining things like when to shut down a player even when they're cleared for play, and how they should rehab an injury. He's the director of player wellness. Based on his resume, probs physical and not mental.Attyla wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:37 pm Team doctor would be the guy to determine when a player is healthy enough to work out after a surgery. I think it's Brady and Spytek in the driver seat and no one is a bigger fan of Brady than his boy, Spytek. I don't think Guerrero is rogue and going against Spytek's wishes. I do think Guerrero has a unique personality, and seems to rub people the wrong way. Might be a rookie GM learning moment for Spytek. Over delegating things can go wrong in ways you never would have imagined.bringdafunk wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:37 pm Cause at the end of the day he is the majority owner of the team. When it comes to rehab, this is not true. The doctors/medical people do all of that. Not a nutrition guy who also apparently schedules the workouts. There are legal issues to this as well. Rehabbing an injury after surgery is carefully monitored by medical staff. And in the case of a professional athlete, it is very closely monitored. The change of reinjuring after surgery is a real thing. No way Maxx is getting his marching orders from some nutrition guy. As for shutting down a player, well, in this case we found out the injury was worse than what was originally reported. Team doctors do consult with GMs/owners but not some nutrition guy who dabbles at being a GM. Doctors are not stupid in that way. You go to the guys who have the titles on their doors.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:42 pm Team doctor is tasked with the diagnosis yes, but they're not making the call. We found out well after the fact that Brady was far less involved last year than we were lead to believe. I am not buying his guy from when he was a patriot was given power to make any medical opinions on a star athlete and I am not buying Spytek would allow for that.
But make no mistake, and Maxx knows this as well, his rehab program comes from people who have some form of medical degree, period. Others can suggest until they are blue in the face, but a star athlete's rehab schedule goes through (most likely) his surgeon's office directly to an occupational therapist. My sister is one of those and I know how she gets patient care programs, they come from a doctor's office.

Well he's not just a nutrition guy. His position is somewhat unique. He has a hand in strength and conditioning as well. I'm not sure how you reconcile reports calling him the assistant GM with him being nothing more than a dietician. But it seems like you're off base on this one. His role is clearly larger than you think. I also didn't suggest licensed doctors and surgeons aren't part of the process. I said they're offering a diagnosis and the team plans accordingly. Who makes that plan is in question, and how much of a say Guerrero has is unclear.Attyla wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:53 pm When it comes to rehab, this is not true. This was entertaining this morning before I went out on errands but now enters the team dietician who is also the GM and Maxs agent?
This gets funnier
