Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide
Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

People think of Linderbaum and associate him to Ravens, so they think of some Barret Robbins/Ryan Jensen mauler. He's not that. I'm pretty sure around the draft he was barely 300lb if not under. He's an Iowa Hawkeye scrapper. I've seen him get bullied some watching Raven games. He's a really good player but he's not what some may envision. Most centers are like that. You have to have a sharp football mind to play center. Some teams/schemes run stupid simple concepts and ask little of the center

Exactly. He is a good player at a position of need but he isn't a guy who is a mauler and is unstoppableGoodtimes333 wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 10:37 am People think of Linderbaum and associate him to Ravens, so they think of some Barret Robbins/Ryan Jensen mauler. Based on the way Kubiak talked about the center position, I think intelligence is key. He mentioned needing a really smart center and never mentioned another trait. I could see him taking a guy who's never played it who just has the durability and mental makeup to handle it and coaching him up instead of a physical specimen with experience but who has more limited upside in setting protections.Goodtimes333 wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 10:37 am People think of Linderbaum and associate him to Ravens, so they think of some Barret Robbins/Ryan Jensen mauler. I'm not sure we spend big at center...... it might end up being a surprise solution. They did win the SB in Seattle with Jalen Sundell at center - a college tackle in his first year at center and first NFL year as a starter.

I don't think Parham ever got a shot at center and wasn't he drafted to be a center or maybe he was projected there? Maybe a bit of a dark horse candidate if he would re-signchucker wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 10:44 am Based on the way Kubiak talked about the center position, I think intelligence is key. I thought he should have gotten a shot at center...... I think he only got 2 or 3 starts at center and we scored 63 points in one of those. When Parham was drafted there was a lot of talk that he was drafted with the intention to move to center after getting acclimated to the NFL. I saw a FA estimate of $10 million a year for him, which I think seems nuts.Hellbound wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 11:32 am I don't think Parham ever got a shot at center and wasn't he drafted to be a center or maybe he was projected there? I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Meredith back and competing for a job...... Sign Meredith for cheap so you have a warm body with some versatility and let go of Cappa.

I care what it costs, I cant see paying a center 22+ million per season. We could get 2 above average O-line guards for that and move JPJ to Center. I wont be mad if we get him and break the bank but there is a point where it doesnt make financial sense on a team with so many holes.

I wonder if Mcgovern and Pierce is better than Lindenbaum and a cheaper free agent receiver

I'd hate that tbh. I think a big reason why it's hard to evaluate JPJ (Besides coaching) is that he had subpar talent to the left and right of him, and Parham factors into that math. I'd rather get David Edwards and someone like Wyatt Teller who is older but will play at a high level, I'm not convinced Parham could do so. Regardless of where JPJ plays I'm not obsessed with spending big on center since none of the options are elite world beaters anyway, and there are quite a few guards who are more of a sure thing who will cost less.Hellbound wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 11:32 am I don't think Parham ever got a shot at center and wasn't he drafted to be a center or maybe he was projected there? Bad move. Not playing LV 2x per year, his sack total will drop from 15 to 3.

Dallas D sucks, they need the help. Maybe relieve Maxx when he gets there...Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 2:16 pm Bad move. Not playing LV 2x per year, his sack total will drop from 15 to 3.

We need a shit load of linebackers. Oline and Linebackers is what I would focus in this free agency period--And a WR but I wouldn't overpay. Find one in the draft or Maxx trade (if traded)

Rumors are Pierce is looking for 30m. I'll definitely pass at thatALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 2:44 pm We need a shit load of linebackers.
