Rooks getting on the field for the first time and seeing Maxx Crosby out the of the corner of thier eye says something I agree.Attyla wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 8:17 am I also like Maxx in a rebuild because he sets newer guys up for success. You do need a few vets during a rebuild that have the culture and the drive to the work ethic
Okay so the head of player health and wellness was tasked with telling Maxx he can't play for the rest of the year. I can see how that is annoying if it really came just from Guerrero and not Spytek. I think by the letter of his job position, he would be the guy to make the diagnosis. But he shouldn't have been the guy to break the news. Like everything, we're getting piece meal'd portions of the truth mixed in with assumptions. I understand why Maxx was mad. Sounds like Guerrero wanting to be more involved than he needs to be. Should have been a convo between him and Spytek with Spytek being the bad guy. Doesn't excuse Maxx's behavior but it certainly rationalizes it.
First I am reading that he cares about anything to do with Guerrero
So he wants a trade because he did not like the messenger? Seems thin to me.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 11:55 am Okay so the head of player health and wellness was tasked with telling Maxx he can't play for the rest of the year. Looking back, I believe this was released as Marks way of telling Maxx, I’m not the guy to blame:NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 11:55 am Okay so the head of player health and wellness was tasked with telling Maxx he can't play for the rest of the year. Definitely goes along with the story of Maxx having beef with Brady.Attyla wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 11:57 am First I am reading that he cares about anything to do with Guerrero
We need this shit storm like we need to paint the balls pink
Q Myers has been a lone bright spot for our beat reporters while also not blowing up inside information, and he's given a soft approval of Breer's reporting here.Attyla wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 11:57 am First I am reading that he cares about anything to do with Guerrero
He had a temper tantrum because he was told he needed meniscus surgery. I'm not arguing the guy is rational. He plays football well.Attyla wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 11:58 am

Agreed, there's a non-zero chance of that being the case. Spytek was also very adamant in letting everyone know that he's calling the shots. Thanking Mark and Brady several times for being allowed to make the decision. Q Myers said that inside of the building Guerrero is viewed as the unofficial "assistant GM." Guerrero rubbed players the wrong way in New England as well. This was a big deal back when Brady was playing. Personally, I hope it's a non-factor moving forward. But there's smoke here.Corleone wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 11:59 am Looking back, I believe this was released as Marks way of telling Maxx, I’m not the guy to blame:
Ahh, but that's exactly the reason Mark brought him in, in hopes that Tom would take over the football operation side.bringdafunk wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:14 pm I get that it's Tom Brady, but FFS, he has a 5% ownership of the team. In no capacity should he be bringing in his own guys to make football decisions. Mark needs to shut that shit down but we all know that isn't going to happen. Brady's guy or Maxx, seems like a pretty easy decision.
Brady's #1 is Spytek. Guerrero was hired to curate diets and workout regimen. It's absolutely his call along with the team doctor to determine whether a guy is healthy enough to work out. He's also probably spearheading Maxx's rehab.bringdafunk wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 12:14 pm I get that it's Tom Brady, but FFS, he has a 5% ownership of the team.
