Around the NFL
No clue where to post some stuff not necessarily team related but could be? Feel free to delete if this belongs somewhere else.
Maxx and Parsons would be nasty. I probably wouldn’t pay the price though.

And this is precisely what is wrong with the NFL.
They have their hands in the officiating.
They have their hands in the "competition committee". Which in turn controls the schedule.
They have their hands in who gets punished and for how long.
It wreaks of impropriety.
Fans are what brings the money in. No fans, no game. The amount of money fans spend every Sunday for tickets and everything else is staggering. The amount of money they make off of the networks is staggering. The amount of money people spend on gambling is staggering. And yet every single week the fans are treated to obvious bias, ineptitude and impropriety.

Ok, not right for BB to smack JuJu, but he was asking for it with all the taunting during the game...

Of course they have their hands in everything. They want to be able to control and push certain outcomes of particular games. As you said, sports betting has never been more popular, and the money surrounding it is insane. They aren't going to leave any of that up to chance. They will make sure it favors the house every time.16 to 88 wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 9:36 pm And this is precisely what is wrong with the NFL.

If the NFL cared about calling games 100% accurately AI could do it. Since we are still relying on officials that do this 1/2 the year it makes me question a lot of the outcomes. The officials can literally end a drive with a holding call or extend it with a pass interference call. I’m not saying it’s all rigged, just saying there’s a lot of money involved with the NFL. I always think about that NBA ref who got caught and said he wasn’t the only one. Why would the NFL be any different? Gonna go put on my tinfoil hat now.

How could Al do it? He passed away in 2011. Oh, you mean Ai. Not trying to be funny and not bagging on you LS but I always read it as Al as in Al Davis.LayneStaley wrote: Tue Oct 14, 2025 9:47 am If the NFL cared about calling games 100% accurately AI could do it. This happens to me every time someone texts me about A.I. and I have to remember that the curse of being a Raider fan is not a universal experienceOaktownonly wrote: Tue Oct 14, 2025 11:42 am How could Al do it? Chargers released EDGE Clelin Ferrell.
Ferrell was the fourth pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, but he’s come nowhere close to living up to those expectations and served in a reserve role for the Commanders and 49ers over the past two seasons. The 28-year-old defender is released to make room for Jaret Patterson, who was signed to the practice squad in a corresponding transaction.

Yeah, I read this tinfoil hat buzzword a lot but have pointed out time and again there is the opposite.
From a different perspective, that is believing everything is on the up and up with the NFL. Talk about tinfoil hat. lol.
Just a couple weeks ago Robert Saleh called the jaguars out for stealing defensive signals. Said they had gotten so good with it that they had become "elite". Of course he didn't bother to point the finger at his own team who no doubt along with every other team in the league are attempting to do so. It's called cheating.
So every team in the league is conspiring to steal signals, got it. What a shock, not. And of course what does every single HC, OC and DC on the sidelines do and has been doing so for 20-30 years now? Cover their mouth because teams have been conspiring for years on end to read their lips in order to know what is going on. So they are paying lip readers.
Sean Payton and company where conspiring, and found guilty, to hurt players and paying off players on there team to do so. The Patriots conspiring to film other teams. The list goes on and on and on. Ask yourself, what teams in the league do you not like? And what players in the league rub you the wrong way? Certainly NFL officials have their favorites and least liked. To believe otherwise would be tinfoil hat. After all they are human with human emotions. They're not robots.
There are 121 officials in the league and hundreds have already come and gone by now. So we are to believe that out of these hundreds of officials none of them were/are bias or have bet on games in the past/present? Yeah, right. The NFL is a multi billion dollar corporation, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever not to have an independent 3rd party running the officiating. Same goes for the "competition committee" and doling out discipline.
