curious, and not being a dick, honest question, not just for you but for all the guys here....How many games of his have you watched since he became the starter in Seattle. I admit freely, I watched maybe 2 or 3. And I really don't recall a real impression of his game. I really am curious for some honest answers. I mean, it is almost certain that most of his games were in time slots we also played in. And I am not choosing Seattle over the Raiders for sure.
My best guess is that most of us, if we are being completely honest, associate the name with loser because that was what he was with the Jets. But few of us considered what a cluster f[raiders_icon]ck the Jets have been for a long time now. I am also willing to bet as soon as you saw the trade did like I did and went to youtube and typed in "Geno Smith Seattle" and spent about a half hour watching clips of his games and saw some good passes, some TDs, perhaps a rushing TD, and some questionable mechanics on occasion. Now that a day has passed, I am also willing to be a lot of you took to twitter to get the opinions of the "experts" and have repackaged them in your own words.
Not you necessarily but a decent number of guys....if we are being completely honest.
I watch most of his games. I think he is solid and can be better with an O line. He gets no time but will stand tall in the pocket. He doesn't love to run but will and is effective when he does. I still think we draft the QB of the future but Geno can hold down the fort for now.I don't see a better option unless you think Darnokd was the answer. We had to get a reliable vet. Pete didn't come out of his retirement for a long rebuild. I think we will be a combo of try to win now but build for the future as well
The reason I have seen him so much I have 4 TVs in my man cave and a good friend is a West Virginia grad and a Seahawks fan so their game is always on but no volume if the Raiders are playing
Besides us old farts here, a lot of people don't give the "eye test" a lot of credit. They're wrong.
The eye test matters. Not to keep harping on Carr, but most of us here saw nearly every game he played in as a Raider. Fans of other teams would see his highlights and look at the stat sheet and develop a far different opinion than those who watched him every week.
That's why when people say that Geno has good stats, it doesn't mean a lot to me.
Does he come through when it matters most or does he fold?
Are many of his stats the product of garbage time?
Can he make plays to average receivers that elevates their game to above average?
When all else fails, can he shoulder the burden and will his team to a win?
Those are legitimate questions to consider, and a stat sheet won't provide the answers.
There's that one undocumented stat that separates the two, really separates from all the rest. You know it, we don't love it.

Look at Carr's .... numbers. He's elite!
Carr is the NFL all time leader in throwing the ball out of bounds on 4th and game.
After a few days of digestion, I don’t hate it as much but to me it’s a theme of the names and faces changing in the organization while the actions remain the same. New regime comes in and brings in vet QB that bombs. A year later new regime comes in and brings in vet QB that bombs. A year later another new regime comes in and brings in a soon to be 35 year old veteran QB. We have all seen this play out extremely poorly in successive season so understandably I’m having a difficult time getting excited regardless of the positive stats posters want to throw out there. Until it works, this plan has been an absolute disaster for this organization and I’m quite surprised they are going back to this well thinking it will be different this time. Even if Smith plays as well as he did last season, the Raiders may win 9 or 10 games and finish out of the playoffs and Smith will be 36 at the start of the 2026 season. What are we doing here? Was anyone here a week ago really looking at the Seahawks situation of mediocrity and thinking that’s where I want the Raiders to be? I certainly wasn’t.
Seattle went from being a yearly contender to a mediocre .500 team (when they fired Pete) and Raiders said “we’d like some of take some of that.”

I remember the networks touting his career comebacks like he was the next Snake or Joe Montana. It was a by product of playing from behind all of his career and not a summation of clutch moments.
And yes, then giving up on 4th and game plays. I mean roll the dice and throw the ball, receiver might make a highlight real catch or draw a PI penalty but don't give up and throw it into the dirt.
As to the rest of your post, agree. Moving the chains in the second half, engineering long drives, elevating the level of play of those around you. All very important qualities.
I played golf last Friday for the first time in 5 years or so. Im happy to say my scorecard could be returned to the shop clean and unused as I didnt play a single hole worthy of marking a score.
Out of 18 holes, I hit 5 or 6 beautiful shots.
The curse of golf that will bring me back next week
I played in a scramble two years back. I hadn't touched a club the year prior to that. We proceeded to use one of my shots the entire round. I do really like to golf but can't justify paying a course at least $50 to lose a dozen balls every round

I had 2-3 approach shots from around 150 that plopped within 2'-4' of the pin.........and the rest of the day was a nightmare.
Its those couple of shots when a little voice in your ear seductively says, "Youre not that bad....you just need to play more..." While forgetting the dozen lost balls or 2' flubs following a full swing with a 5 iron lol

Not good mind you, I'd still have a couple of holes that my head would explode and I felt bashing my clubs over someone's head. It took alot to remind myself that I'm not that good to begin with so why am I getting pissed

There were times when I watch a shot and I would think "Tiger who"? Then the next hole hit a double bogey while losing three balls and counting those shots as mulligans. Hell I hit got an eagle on a hole and followed it by hitting a quadruple bogey the next. Stupid f[raiders_icon]cking game
I'd love to draft Dart, but I'm not confident at all that he'll make it to round 2.
The only real question I've seen is "can he process at the NFL level?" After in-person visits, the interested teams are going to have a better answer to that question. If they believe he has the brain, he's going to go in the Top 15. He has everything else
In my very first post here a couple months ago I began with a proposal that the Raiders should draft Jeanty at #6 and then somehow package a trade in order to move from our 2nd round pick to back into the 1st where we would draft Dart. I was mostly met with skepticism and laughter and was told by some that you don't draft a RB in the 1st round and at the time, Dart was on very few's radar, much less being a 1st round pick.
...and though I know it's a pipe dream, it's still my dream (I wanted Nix last year). The odds of us drafting both Jeanty and Dart are next to zero but if I absolutely had to pick just one, it would have be Jeanty, because I believe he would be a day 1 starter and would instantly change our ground game, and he's a very capable receiver and a solid pass blocker...he checks all the boxes.
