What’s Cookin' on Gameday 2026

Unread post by Willmark »

(Since I was traveling these last few weeks)
In the vein of what's cooking with Scotman and Attyla.

As in years past, the 2026 What’s Cookin for Gameday thread. Post each week what you’re having on Gameday, drinks, appetizers etc,

Last year’s turned up some good stuff, so keep these in mind:

* Each week post what you are having for food, aka main dish.
* Appetizers?
* Desert?
* Each week what are you drinking?
* Include what you're having if you're tailgating.
* If you are ordering, what are you ordering?
* Brunch, you name it.

Crow can be a delight. You brine the bird, and treat it like any dark meat. Dark meat can be very flavorful. Add a mango salsa to the pot and let the magic happen. Serve over wild rice and blanched asparagus and you are good to go.

Snake River Farms wagyu bavette and baby back ribs. One of the last few nice days here (temp wise) so I am smoking before game time. We may get rain at the end of the game.

Making chowda in the crop pot heavy on the potatoes with some IPA's. I also tried my hand at "Johnny Cakes" this morning. Not bad, not great either.

....18 oz prime NY strip, not quite Pittsburg style,but not literally charred outside, though med rare inside, home fries, and the last of my home grown cherry tomatoes, halved, and with salt, pepper, and fresh parsley. ...simple,. but i needed a good steak, and it was the best steak that i've had in many months.....
