ESPN: Inside Raiders' 2025 collapse, Tom Brady's influence

Good read..here’s an excerpt on the Oline..
"A lot of guys were out of their natural position," left tackle Kolton Miller told ESPN. "It's not easy, but [Brennan Carroll] tried to get the best of us together each week."

An agent of a Raiders offensive lineman said that his client told him the position group met multiple times on their own with Smith and Jeanty, and specifically without coaches, so the quarterback and running back could talk to them about how they wanted the offensive line to create blocks.

"It was that bad," the agent told ESPN. "They were meeting on their own and trying to figure it out together, which I have never heard of in my history of working in this league."

"There is some sort of nepotism going on," a fourth agent of a Raiders player said.

I like how the 1st pick puts us at the center of attention. Al would be in 7th heavan about now--he probably is.

this is going to kill a lot of media folks...they will *have* to talk about the raiders this time around. many of us remember the days of watching drafts, raiders pick comes up, espn goes to 10 commercials...come back, the pick is in, and then the pundits are already moving on to the next team's pick, or interviewing some guy that got picked several picks earlier

I know, its comical..

They're already talking about the Raiders, half of them saying to trade the pick for more picks because a horrible team should build first before bringing in a franchise QB...like franchise QBs grow on Trees ..and free agency doesn't exist.

This was Jeff Saturday's take, who played for the Indianapolis Colts, who were more "horrible" than the Raiders are now when they drafted Peyton Manning number 1.

It's unreal the amount of people that dont believe you can address multiple pieces of your team at once with a competent staff. But whoever doesn't believe it begins with getting your QB is 100% wrong. Especially when there is one staring you in the face.

It's a lazy take..or its scripted. "Whose going to be the idiot who says trade the pick today." Jeff Saturday, "I'll do it since I haven't researched anything and don't know shit other than its the Raiders.."

you get the 1st round QB right, you're set for 8-10 years. This is the play.

That's 37.5 million x8 years someone will need to cover.
I'll never really understand this contract either.

Sounds like Samson is just saying what he believes should happen without any actual information. Time will tell, but it's not exactly a big scoop. At least Brady has gotten better as an analyst - even though he still shouldn't be the #1 guy at Fox ahead of Olsen.

Yep. All kinds of bullshit mouth flapping is going to happen prior to the draft, but there's no doubt who the pick is going to be.

I'm now going to curse us and say this: Even we couldn't f*** this one up.

If he's capable of adding anything to this franchise he needs to be in the building nearly every day, just like everyone else. You can't get on Zoom once or twice a week and show up for a few months during the offseason and expect to have any impact. He needs to either be all the way in or he needs to sit back, shut his mouth, and collect an absurd amount of money from his investment.

IMO Brady has influence for sure but I question how much "power" he has. He is obviously consulted for his opinions but I have my doubts he has authority to say, "Do what I tell you". Hopefully anyway.......

If he has been given that power then this falls again to Mark "The Zipper Clown" Davis
