Each day I come on here and not read that Carr has been extended is a good one.
It isn't much but it does allow me to retain the little hope I have for this new regime and its prospects moving forward.
Just saying...
Signal, I wanted to give you a high five but I don't want to jinx us.
there have not been a lot of truly great NFL players from Fresno St but there is a handful of them. Henry Ellard stands out in my mind, but ironically two of their QBs have Super Bowl rings. Can the third get one as well?
Ellard/mankins/Neal/Adams/berrian/ pittman

There's rumors a couple of teams are interested in Mariota. Imagine he gets to start elsewhere and plays well. I'm still upset they never let Mariota get more playing time to see what the Raiders had in him.

Somehow I missed seeing a member of this board saying that we should sign him for $40m a year.

Quarterback ratings
How this works: This forecast is based on 50,000 simulations of the season and updates after every game. Our traditional model uses Elo ratings (a measure of strength based on head-to-head results and quality of opponent) to calculate teams’ chances of winning their regular-season games and advancing to and through the playoffs. Our quarterback-adjusted Elo model incorporates news reports to project likely starters for every upcoming game and uses our quarterback Elo ratings to adjust win probabilities for those games. A team’s current quarterback adjustment is based on its likely starter in its next game and how much better or worse that QB is than the team’s top starter. Full methodology »
Game metrics are on a 0-100 scale. Quality is determined by the harmonic mean of the teams’ Elo ratings; importance measures how much the result will alter playoff projections; the overall number is the average of the quality and importance values.
Factoring in Russell Wilson on the Broncos now, Carr is definitely the #4 QB in the division at this point.

A lot of teams need Qb's and not much to go around so I think he'll have his pick from a few teams.
He'd fit well in Seattle as a bridge Qb if they draft a guy like Malik Willis. He'd also help fill seats there because of his fanbase in the NW. Also possibly in Indy if they don't get whoever they have in mind in a trade.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/20 ... rterbacks/
Interesting. It seems to be accurate in showing the difference in on the field performance between the QBs in the division. Even taking Wilson's injury to his throwing hand into account last year, he still outscores Carr in a division with the Rams, 9'ers, and Cardinals.
The 9'ers showed you could get pretty far with a good defense, a couple of playmakers on offense, and a quarterback whose primary job is to not f[raiders_icon]ck things up. That's what I'd like to see us do.
