It was also reported that there have been no contract extension talks with Carr yet.
If the new regime offers him one more cent than he is making we are f[raiders_icon]cked for the foreseeable Future!!!

No doubt in my mind Josh will want a fresh start with a new QB. You can tell Gruden did too.

If anything, the obvious conclusion to be drawn is that Gruden wanted to keep Carr

It’s conceivable Gruden would have gotten rid of Carr this off-season but, like I said, he had plenty of chances to rid himself of Carr but not only did he not, he took every opportunity to praise him.
Just don't extend Carr. With a new HC, OC, playcaller we should want to see how the fit is before locking in. And Carr, if he wants to win like he says he does, should want the same. Let the two sides "date" for a year before getting married. That's good for everyone.
I seriously doubt Mcdaniels will do anything to shake up the Qb situation at all! If hes learned a F*cking thing from his last stint as HC in Denver! where he pissed off his starter! and doomed his tenure there. So unless Tebow becomes Available @ pick#22 then he stands pat aQB!
What would be more likely is Carr gets Ansy/Pissed with No meaningful progress with his extension, and he causes a Trade, A la Kyler Murray/ Russel Wilson! & the like of those A-holes trying to sabotage themselves out of their situation! Maybe they move Mariota or Peterman or start showcasing them! hey with all the movement at QB on other teams & the drought in the draft maybe theres someone hard up enough to bite? Mcdaniels is walking on eggshells on the Carr Subject. Like Lets at least get into camp first so I can see him IRL! & in the meeting rooms, He just doesnt know if hes a Jackass Yet.

Can Car actually lure more than 1 1st+ in this years draft? Maybe a 1 & 2?
There are a fairly large number of qb desperate teams that have serious playoff aspirations and the free agent market is pretty slim-Trubisky seems like the best healthy option. With Carrs cap friendly(right now) contract I think if the Raiders decided to trade him there would be a pretty active market for him. Two firsts and a second I think would be a pretty realistic return

Average QBs in this league can get you quite the yield in return. And Carr is average to just above average. IF for whatever, Carr decided that he wanted to force a trade, Ziegler would get good draft capital in return.
I am no fan of Carr, but I cannot deny that he would garner interest and would entice a team or two to ante up.
Hence those in favor of trading Carr are not simply offering up an option that is unrealistic. A trade would garner much needed draft capital AND space under cap. Problem is, Mayock and Gruden have left the team no real options at the position.
P.S. All those wasted first round picks....if only, Gruden would have been serious about improving the most important position in football by addressing it in the draft instead of overpaying an underutilized vet.

you have to believe teams are inquiring. Heck we know they are inquiring about Rodgers and he has one of the toughest contracts to trade. Wilson's contract would be another that would be tough to absorb but teams have made inquiries there as well. Carr has one of the easiest starting QB contracts to move. Only a great fool would believe that of the 13 or so quarterback thirsty teams, not one has called the raiders. I would imagine at least 10 such calls have been made. This is kick the tires season right now and teams are kicking tires around the league to see who is available.

Their cap hits to a destination team are $27 million or less, which most teams either have available or would find it easy to create. Then they'd look for a new contract, which could easily be structured to have lower initial cap hits.
The challenge with Rodgers is for the Packers to get under the cap prior to the start of the league year, while still tagging Adams - because they have to be under the cap before a trade can happen.

Obviously, if you are going to move on either, you would have your ducks in a row when making the offer ensuring you have the cap space.
