While it is EXTREMELY unlikely, everyone is assuming The Raiders are taking a QB at #1.

I wanna see O'Connell start the first month or so. Let's see what we have at O-line before sending him out there to get destroyed. Let him learn the system, whatever it's going to be, how to read defenses to a better degree, and let him see the game in real time/speed.
It's the norm now to throw rook QBs to the wolves, but that doesn't mean it's always the right thing to do.
The FO can do this the stupid way or the smart way. Let's hope they break the pattern of complete stupidity.

Couldn’t agree more, when you’re hoping to develop a guy to be your franchise guy for 10+ years you don’t need to start him day 1. Do not put him behind a terrible O line.

unless he's flat out good enough to start day one? the Patriots f[raiders_icon]cked around not starting Maye for no reason at all. perhaps the Raiders front office realize they are drafting a QB number one overall and make moves to bolster the offensive line... we don't know how the roster will look down the road. if he is the best option in the QB room, play him, i don't give a shit if he is a rookie...

What if he hates the idea of coming to Las Vegas AKA Sin City. The guy is very strait-laced and religious and we are a losing, crappy franchise run by a doofus. It is not crazy that he plays another year in college esp. if Indiana loses the playoffs. I will not relax until the Commissioner says it on the stage.
