Same here.

Personally I don’t worry about him as a HC. The OC as we have seen tho year especially is what really matters.
That would probably not be a Telesco hire. If Mike comes to the Raiders, it would be a Brady/Turnip hire.

Yay, the Patriot way did so well for us, hell let's also get McDaniel as OC

Vrabel has a .545 winning percentage as head coach. When is the last time the Raiders had a head coach with a career winning percentage over .500? He accomplished that with Mariota and Tennehill which is pretty impressive. He also has a winning record against Andy Reid and he’s defeated the Ravens and Patriots in the playoffs. So he’s shown the ability to out coach the best. The guy is a good head coach and the Raiders could do much, much, much worse than Vrabel. That said the offensive coordinator hire would be crucial.
Does Vrabel have an OC that he's coached with in the past?
Vrabel had Henry and a defense. That is what he was able to win with. I suspect there are people who could replicate those results if they had those two factors
Does Vrabel have an OC that he's coached with in the past?
Lafleur, Arthur Smith, Downing (cough), Tim Kelley (for his last year). Mixed bag but his first few hires were pretty good and it’s the same old story for successful head coaches from the defensive side where they lose their OC’s when the team is successful.

Truthfully, I would be shocked if there is a HC on the planet that can turn the franchise around.

I dont care if its AP, Vrable, Belichick, or Andy Reid... I will believe the Raiders can win, when I see it.
I really dont think its possible for this team to ever be consistently good again.
The whole franchise needs to be sold and rebranded before it will ever have success again.
One thing I more certain of every day is the Raiders will never win a Super Bowl again.
Does Vrabel have an OC that he's coached with in the past?
His OCs-
Matt LaFleur- Great hire
Arthur Smith- Great hire
Tod Downing-Got everyone fired

Top two of course are in work and we definitely don’t want Downing back.

Maybe he gives Mike LaFleur another chance calling plays, or I could see raiders hiring Pat Shurmer…. His calling plays for our future QB right now. So he would join with already an understanding of the offense etc

What is your percentage of AP coming back? I think it's about 5 percent after last week.

AP should get a shot with an actual quarterback. It’s Johnny and joes not X’s & O’s

And AP beat the Super Bowl champs on their home field last year so I guess that’s out coaching the best right?

AP is getting his shot and the Raiders are tied for worst team in the NFL. Do you really think better QB play will turn him from a terrible coach into a good coach? I think he’s pretty well exhausted what he could get out of dancing around saying “R-A-I-D-E-R-S” as a motivational tactic. Maybe he just needs better retired head coaches to come out of retirement and consult for him right?

Like what’s expected of him, not talking about wins. As a guy that’s not calling any plays and doesn’t have anything to do with offence. What should he actually be doing to be a good Head coach?

Getting a good coaching squad together- Failed
Energising the team and building a culture of not giving up after inconveniences - Failed
Game management- Failed
Being a well coached team, players underrating roles, players taking accountability and using time well. Judging by the team meeting a few weeks ago-Failed

It’s about Jimmy and joes as you say, but he’s not elevating them. Right now you could replace AP with anybody and nothing would change. His impact last year was solely removing McDaniels.

I thought AP earned the right to compete for the job based on what I saw last year. He really has proven that he can't learn and develop the way he should as a head coach though. His decision-making process is simply not what it should be and he hasn't addressed that. It stuns me that a guy can be around football his whole life and not see that the old way isn't always the right way. It's not all analytics, but ignoring them is just stupid.

Given that he's not the architect on either side of the ball, he has to nail the in-game decisions.

Mark has obviously not made good decisions, or we wouldn't be in this position - again. But IMO he's recognized his failures and essentially fired himself as the decision-making-owner by adding Brady to the equation. What other owner has sold off part of their team at a discount to help the long term decision-making? Remember that if Davis sold the team outright to a new owner, it is not going to be sold to a guy who knows football - and there's a good chance it's a David Tepper type of guy. I'm unhappy with our season, but at least there's a chance that the next iteration is better.

Enlighten me on how McDaniels did when Tua got hurt?

I guess it’s Sean Payton’s big brain that has Denver the better record this year right?

Can you tell me how Belichek did once Brady left?

Heck tell me what Vrable did his last 2 seasons in Tennessee? Vrabel took over a .500 team and led them to the same record his first 2 seasons.

But hey 5 years ago he won 2 playoff games, then got beat by double digits by the queefs, then got eliminated in the playoffs right away the next 2 seasons.

Yup, just the guy to lead us. What a HUGE get this would be!

Don’t worry Mark is an idiot so he will let his new BFF hire his old buddy.
