Obvious Mendoza #1 no consideration of trading that pick.
But who you got picks 2 - 4 thats going to help Mendoza.
#2 Raiders should be able to select WR Chris Bell or WR KC Concepcion with our early 2nd.
#3 I forget who it was, but someone here mentioned that the best pure dominant RT coming out of college could be got in the 3rd. And stated hes played his whole career at RT, and not being moved around the line.
Sounds like solid gets
Id hope the rest of the draft is building the trenches, with maybe 1 DB in there
Who else you like ?

I am. The main reason is I dont want O'Connell anywhere near this team. Obviously im not saying take one in the 2nd, 3rd or even 4th round. But if this staff sees a guy they can develop as our backup or even future trade bait, im completely fine with that and actually prefer it. The Eagles thrived on being a "QB factory".
Yes, as was Green Bay. Ray Rhodes. brought that mindset with him after working for Ron Wolf, it has more or less endured in Philly since then.

I agree about addressing the qb situation. I just don't think this team is in a position to be drafting developmental qbs and worrying about flipping them at all. There's just way too many things that this team needs before we start that. If you wanna start doing it in a couple of years after the roster has (hopefully) been filled out, Im all for it
As far as AoC, he's not good but Im not worried about him being off or on the roster. Again this team isn't in a position to be choosers. Also if a vet is signed, he's probably gone anyway

I don't think drafting a development QB in the year we use the first overall pick on a QB is a good use of our draft or coaching resources. We have one young QB to develop - lets focus our efforts on developing that guy in his rookie season. I do agree that we should draft QBs every year or two..... and we're drafting one this year. We actually drafted one last year too. Every two years is probably enough - the Eagles don't do it more than that.

BPA over need but -- for rounds 2 and 3, I would hope we get a safety and another defender. We have been weak at CB, LB and DT for years. Plus, I don't trust Koonce or Wilson so a good edge rusher would be fine with too. I don't care about RB, WR, TE, or C in the upper rounds.

I've been fine with AOC as a backup....... there are two things against him this year. First, he's never worked in the system before and so probably isn't the best guy to help Mendoza along. Second, he's actually not dirt cheap this year - he's not exactly expensive, but we save about $3.6 million if we move on. So we could add a guy with some experience in the system for less money.
He's probably not front of mind for many people but I like the idea of adding Brandon Allen, who has worked with Mike McCoy last year and with Kubiak in SF. Just a cheap vet...... he's there as an extra QB coach, not for his potential play on the field (like Davis Webb was for much of his "playing" career).

WR is still a need. Not a WR1, but a WR.
Im fine with signing an older vet on a short term lower cost deal to kick that can down the road until next year's draft. Keenan Allen would be fine with me. You can get him on a 1-yr deal for about 8 million, and he would actually raise the bar for the other receivers to get playing time. He wont break the cap and there would be no long term commitment. We should also take this approach with OG(Zeitler) and with DT (Reader). All 3 of those would be less than 20 million and would be FAs after the season.

I just don't want to be drafting positions just to check boxes. I know we still have a lot of holes and key backup slots so let's just draft the best guy when we are up regardless of the position. I know teams will be kicking guys to the curb after the draft and during camp and preseason where we can get help so it is not like there will not be options to fill holes.

That's where I'm at. With the amount of holes and lack of depth I don't see us just drafting a certain position. We could literally draft anything and them be a fit

If we were a normally functioning franchise? Yes we should be drafting QBs every couple of years.
We are not that yet.
Ideally, rounds 5-7 a team should always be drafting a QB as optimal. In those rounds the players are mostly special teams guys or players who won’t make the roster.
The most logical move? Treat the other 31 teams draft picks as those guys to fill out those roles. By early August there are plenty of them available and not much in terms of differences of talent.
Hitting on a QB late? He doesn’t need to be Brady, simply a starter good enough that another team wants him and then flip for picks.
Think of it this way: adding a 9th Dline man, a 5th lb or a 6th WR in the draft or taking a flyer on a QB?
The math says QB because it’s an incredible payoff if you hit.

omar cooper comparisons
Omar Cooper Jr. has drawn significant NFL comparisons to physical, yards-after-catch (YAC) specialists like Deebo Samuel and Rashee Rice. Analysts frequently highlight his compact, "stocky" build and his elite ability to force missed tackles, which mirrors the playing style of several established NFL stars.

Top Player Comparisons
Deebo Samuel (49ers): The most common comparison due to Cooper’s "rugged" physicality and his effectiveness in the slot. Like Samuel, he is often used as a lead blocker and a threat on manufactured touches.
Rashee Rice (Chiefs): Cited by A to Z Sports for his ability to find soft spots in zone coverage and turn short completions into explosive gains.
Jayden Reed (Packers): Viewed as a physical match, particularly in his role as a versatile slot weapon who can also produce big plays vertically.
Amon-Ra St. Brown (Lions): Cooper has mentioned studying St. Brown's game, and scouts see a similar "quarterback's best friend" profile due to his reliable hands and high-floor production.
Ladd McConkey (Chargers): Some scouts compare his technical route running and burst to McConkey, though they note Cooper is slightly larger and more physical.

Stylistic Comparisons by Attribute
Yards After Catch (YAC): Compared to Puka Nacua and Robert Woods for his willingness to block and his ability to slip through defenders.
Slot Role & Hands: His sure-handedness and ability to move the chains on third down have drawn comparisons to Jarvis Landry, Wes Welker, and Julian Edelman.
Deep Threat Potential: Because of his 4.42 speed, some analysts see traces of Brandon Aiyuk or a more physical version of Stefon Diggs.

Cookie cutter drafting by position is why teams struggle. We did that for years.

the raiders are finally running like a modern day football operation, every addition to the team has been precise and targeted, the cap management has been top notch as well...i have every reason to believe that the draft is gonna be a success this yr and we get our franchise qb finally instead of retreads

Speaking on The Saturday Huddle, ESPN’s Rich Cimini reports the Eagles are seeking a second-round pick for QB Tanner McKee.
That is a steep, steep asking price for McKee, who was a sixth-round pick in 2023 and has attempted exactly 88 passes in his career. According to Cimini, the Jets called Philly about trading for McKee before acquiring Geno Smith, and were told it would cost a second-round pick for the Eagles to deal the 6-foot-6 pocket passer. It was recently reported that a trade market is not “emerging” for McKee. If this asking price is true, then those reports should come as no surprise.
The QB factory at it again

Does the QB factory draft 2 QBs in any year, or every year, or is it one every couple of years?
Also "a trade market is not emerging for McKee".
We should consider QB in the draft next year, but this year we need to focus on Mendoza's success, which won't be aided by drafting another QB.
