2026 Draft - Raiders & all teams (April 23-25)
Obvious Mendoza #1 no consideration of trading that pick.
But who you got picks 2 - 4 thats going to help Mendoza.
#2 Raiders should be able to select WR Chris Bell or WR KC Concepcion with our early 2nd.
#3 I forget who it was, but someone here mentioned that the best pure dominant RT coming out of college could be got in the 3rd. And stated hes played his whole career at RT, and not being moved around the line.
Sounds like solid gets
Id hope the rest of the draft is building the trenches, with maybe 1 DB in there
Who else you like ?

jeanty will be fine, kubiak is from the shanahan/mcvay tree both feature the rb game with a wide open playbook...we saw after chip kelly got fired olson came in and started to use jeanty in the pass game as a weapon and he played much better finishing over 1000 yds and 10 tds running/recAttyla wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 10:48 am Yep, I am mostly worried about our run game. Mendoza has some great short pass options which will help his development, but Jeanty really needs to have holes opened for him so it takes the pressure off the pass game. I think Mendoza, with Jeanty and Bowers will keep defenses honest, but I want larger holes up the middle so Jeanty is not getting hit at the line of scrimmage. I don't know if Grant can play RT but I think he can make the move based on what little we have seen from him.
jeanty faced contact behind or at the line 54 pct of his carries last yr, thats an incredible number and he still got over 1000 yds...expect jeanty to explode this yr with better oline and better offensive scheme

You take a developmental QB late on the 3d day because it costs basically nothing to do it and the potential is there to get a better backup qb than the one we have.

so you take positions. I prefer taking the best option.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 11:11 am You take a developmental QB late on the 3d day because it costs basically nothing to do it and the potential is there to get a better backup qb than the one we have.

Jeanty needs linemen who can run block so that we are using him more effectively in the run game. I understand that he was used in the pass gamemstrbass2000 wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 11:09 am jeanty will be fine, kubiak is from the shanahan/mcvay tree both feature the rb game with a wide open playbook...we saw after chip kelly got fired olson came in and started to use jeanty in the pass game as a weapon and he played much better finishing over 1000 yds and 10 tds running/rec

....of course, and as I said, due to last season being what it was with Pete and his kid, and my inability to tune in to most games during last season due to changes in access to those games from afar, I had forgotten the response we had pretty much all shared to those picks at the time they were made. glaze, I remembered, but had more or less forgotten about grant this off season....Trainnvain wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 10:03 am We may not be able to gauge the progress but I am pretty confident the strategy was to draft a high upside talent to develop

After taking Mendoza, drafting another qb developmental or not would be the farthest thing from my mind as Im drafting and constructing this teamCruisin with Tooz wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 11:11 am You take a developmental QB late on the 3d day because it costs basically nothing to do it and the potential is there to get a better backup qb than the one we have.

Exactly, like I said, if the best guy on the board is a QB, maybe I take one. But not to waste on the PS. We can get undrafted guys for that messHellbound wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 12:26 pm After taking Mendoza, drafting another qb developmental or not would be the farthest thing from my mind as Im drafting and constructing this team

If it's the 6th-7th round and a QB prospect they really like is still there, and he's arguably best on the board, hell yeah take him. But the concept of needing that right now before the draft is silly. In a non deep QB class I'd dare say having a worthy prospect available that late is very unlikely. And with that in mind I don't give a f[raiders_icon]ck, because Mendoza

This team has neglected QB for way too long. We should absolutely take another QB later on this year. And realistically, every year.

Its not one or the other. You take both considerations into account. Other things being more or less equal take the player that fills a hole. A late day three pick has little chance of not being cut. If he isnt cut he has little chance of making it off the PS. If he makes it onto the active roster he is likely a ST player that is replaced by next year's 6th round pick. In a year where we have 10 picks and a #2 qb entering his final year and likely shouldnt be retained, you might as well swing for the fences using a late day 3 pick on a qb. But like you said, opinions vary.

My ideal draft:
1. Mendoza
2. Miller or Iheanachor (HM to Hunter)
3. Move up 10 spots -----> Orange
4. Banks, a FS and a RB or QB if available
5. QB or RB
6. LB or CB or S
7. K

Yea it is one thing or the other. You say you want us to use a day three pick on a QB, period. I want us to get the best player at each of our picks and not be married to a position.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 1:43 pm Its not one or the other. That is the very definition of one thing or the other. The rest of your words are just words.

WR is still a need. Not a WR1, but a WR.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 1:54 pm My ideal draft:

That's fair but with as many holes and depth issues that this team has, I'm not wasting a pick on another qb this year. If anyone wants to get to a point where a Burford signing is depth competition or camp fodder, wasting a pick on a qb this year isn't a good start to that goal imoBoKnows81 wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 1:31 pm This team has neglected QB for way too long. I am. The main reason is I dont want O'Connell anywhere near this team. Obviously im not saying take one in the 2nd, 3rd or even 4th round. But if this staff sees a guy they can develop as our backup or even future trade bait, im completely fine with that and actually prefer it. The Eagles thrived on being a "QB factory".Hellbound wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 2:42 pm That's fair but with as many holes and depth issues that this team has, I'm not wasting a pick on another qb this year.
