Wonder if he would say this to Pete's face? Wonder if "all corners" he spoke with know anything about coaching football? What are they ridiculing? Lombardi trophy? Championship teams? W-L records? Ability to teach? Optimism? Just not understanding what people would "ridicule." Curious who he thought was actually available who would be a better choice than Pete. How long is that list?
The article goes on to have high praise for Spytek. So there's that.
I don’t see experienced football people ridiculing the Carroll hire. Maybe the pretenders, but not the real ones,
See how he is holding his hands that is a sign that he is uncomfortable. Also the hands on the hips at the end is standoffish gesture. He put his hand on hPC's shoulder like he was pushing him away to keep his distance. The hand over his mouth while he is laughing is a sign of deceitfulness. Like he really doesn't think anything is funny. He averts his eyes instead of maintaining eye contact which shows his disrespect for PC. He looks at the floor a lot which shows his disgust for being put in this awkward moment and a desire to leave.
Maybe that will help.
Duuuvaaal! Yeah, I'm not sure who'd be more ridiculed after that cringe moment...
I have not seen anyone laugh at the Pete hire. The Duuuuvaaal on the other hand.
That was one of the most cringe things I've ever seen. The comments section was the best, Jag fans claiming they're gonna go 0-17 after lol. The way Coen handled that whole situation with Tampa was dogshit. He also should have just declined saying Duval altogether. The Jaguars have no kind of history or culture so of course the Duuuuvaaal thing is something they'd have

You know, I seem to recall someone (spoiler alert: me) saying that those guys, Coen and Johnson, were never coming to the Raiders. Another poster accused me of thinking of myself as a mind reader. Hmm..
Anybody want the Powerball numbers, give me a dm, we'll talk price.
PS: actually knowing those numbers would make me clairvoyant, not a mind reader. Tomato, Tomahto.
Tom Brady is going to transform AOC into a starting QB behind a top 5 OL.. Pete Carroll and PG Wil do the rest. Fear not Raider Nation, Crosby is now more empowered than ever. Our D will rise with one more addition and all this misery and crying will end next year. We are due.
That would be some David Blaine/ Chriss Angel shit right there.

The only thing I like about Pete is that he took a year off from the NFL not counting his teaching gig at USC.
Makes me think he has a renewed excitement to coach.
Experience aside

This video is kind of interesting, it was the bears people discussing PC when they thought they might get him. The guy they are interviewing goes into the things PC did to change the Seahawks. He mentioned that Russel Wilson was the last piece of the puzzle because Carrol had already built the rest of the team up around the QB position and Defense. I can see a lot of similarities and hopefully PC has enough left in the tank to do it again.

I was excited about Minshew. I had visions of a Jeff Hostetler/Rich Gannon like narrative. Wasn't to be. It doesn't make you a lesser fan or enthusiast.
None of us on this forum are experts, though there are a few that claim to be. Keep punching dude.

Obviously, he's been around Pete a lot of years and voiced all the things I thought are true about him, observing from afar. It's nice to hear someone who knows Pete up close and personal confirm what you see is who he truly is.

The comments on Waldron were enlightening too - we all get excited about "he was a coordinator under McVay" but it doesn't always work if the personality doesn't fit.
