Interesting ... Maybe there Is an upside to Geno.
As long as we don't have to go to KC or Buffalo for a playoff game.
Odds are we wont be going anywhere for a playoff game...aren't you a betting man? But hey stranger things have happened...I just can't think of one!

If I have to worry about Geno playing a cold weather playoff game next season, I'll take that as a good problem.
What? How Pete handled his QB search the last time he took over a team is entirely relevant to how he might approach it this time. And, the whole point of the OP was that Pete didn't marry himself to the big FA signing that year - he still drafted a QB in the 3rd and - most importantly - cut bait to start the rookie in week 1. That rookie got them to many playoff appearances and a SB win. As soon as that QB lost his effectiveness, he cut bait and traded him, too.
I don't think you know the entire context of what I was responding to.
Wont happen because we no longer have an extra 3rd round pick to jump back into the end of the 1st or early 2nd to get him...just saying;) Titans will scarf him up if they don't take QB with the first!
I’m thinking there are probably 4-5 guys we might be interested in. Doubt they’re all gone before our 2nd pick, plus aren’t we already slotted early 2nd? There’s also other ways and assets to move around. I would be shocked if we don’t grab another in the draft as now is the time to be able to sit and get accustomed to the next level.
I also think the Locket and DK situation put a damper on any good vibes Geno had on that team. I would guess he’s pretty stoked coming here with what we can offer, and we’ve really just started.

Contact CorleoneI've had a day to digest this trade, and I still don't like it.
For many years the Seahawks have proven to be much less inept than our org. Their plan to trade Geno and sign Darnold is something we should have pursued. We could have kept our third round pick and had a player 7 years younger coming off a better season. Geno is 35 years old and even if he's able to regain his form from a few years ago, his shelf life is close to expired.
This is a typical Raider nepotism move, no team does it better. Reminds me a lot of McDaniels going after Jimmy G, the guy he knows and is comfortable with, but not necessarily the best for what this org needs. I know many will drink the kool aid like is always done, but there were better moves to be made.
The one move that will make me feel better is drafting someone like Milroe, who needs a couple years to develop the arm skill (to match the athleticism). I don't expect Geno will be around much longer than a year or two, so we better have a plan in place so we're not in the same situation next offseason.

Our current HC and QB situation is not even close to McDick and Jimmy
