Gay doesn't have a booming leg either, and he wasn't at OTA's yesterday fwiw. Feeling like it could be Matsuzawa's job to lose.

I don’t know how it will all shake out, maybe we’re headed for the same Charlie Brown football as always.
But I have to say, this is by far the most fun offseason in a long time. The obvious headline storyline is Kubiak/Mendoza, but even the smaller storylines are fun.
I’m really rooting for the Toe! I love his story, I love that he’s a Raider fan because he experienced the HOT, and it would be fun to have Japan buy into Raider football as we (hopefully) hit our stride.
Obviously he has to earn it, both this year and beyond. I’d rather have a boring kicker who can add NFL value than a fun story that is a limitation on the field. But I’d love to see his story work out in silver and black

Our Kickers leave a lot to be desired...hopefully they find something viable! FG kickers are way under valued they can make or break you! I would take Aubry at 7 mil per year over 80 percent of our roster!!

What happens when he gets the yips and/or isn't as accurate from 60yds anymore? You're stuck with a high salaried kicker with a cap hit if you get rid of him. You can find kickers anywhere now. Detroit and several other teams have proven this. Find em & sign em for cheap. I get that a kicker can win a game. We have all seen it.
I would rather put a team together that doesn't rely on a 50+ field goal to win.
it's gonna happen, understood. But we shouldn't rely on in.

Not always, but usually, you get what you pay for,

Question, he’s an IPP right? So if he makes the roster he doesn’t count against the 53.

He would not count against a practice squad roster, if he's signed to the active 53-man roster permanently, he would then count against the roster limit just like any other playerTrueFan420 wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 8:31 am Question, he’s an IPP right? 50 yards is the old 40 yards. Hell extra points are 37 yards.
A kicker needs to be solid at 50 yards.

Yes exactly. From his record I think Matsuzawa can be solid at 50. Can he be good at 55 yards, which is the new 48 yards, though?Rabidraider wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 9:06 am 50 yards is the old 40 yards. Hell extra points are 37 yards.

Thanks for the clarification! I kinda want to see him and LS win out. Go young and see if they’re at the level. You can always get talent there next year if we’re willing to overspend some.rcraider wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 5:51 am He would not count against a practice squad roster, if he's signed to the active 53-man roster permanently, he would then count against the roster limit just like any other player

I don't worry about range. Be accurate as hell inside the 45 yard range. Be reasonable outside that. I am not the "big foot" kind of guy. I am more concerned that they make all the one's they should make and that means inside 45 yards or so.vtraider wrote: Thu May 28, 2026 10:21 pm I worry about our kickers ranges. Both of them. Hopefully we won't need the range. But it's nice to know it's there in case
