The contract worries me but he was 13th in pff last year and has been a solid 10-17th starter the past few years.
Surely they aren't stupid enough to give a 35 year old mediocre QB 40-45 Mil per
If Tua and Lawrence are gonna get 50+ then yeah the market says Geno will get 40.
Honest question for people freaking out, did you think 74 year old Pete was gonna just tank this year with AOC? Every single option after Stafford was shit, including this one.
Geno
Arod
Wilson
Fields
Darnold
Cousins
Jones
One was gonna be on the team, no way were we gonna roll with AOC and Jaxon Dart or whoever else people think the savior is.
Dude... Again, its the compensation and the new incoming deal. Geno Smith as a 35 year old bridge QB for a 6th or 7th round pick and a 1 year deal, nobody would be bitching. You have to account for the awful value here.

He’s a good bridge and allows us to draft a guy who doesn’t have to start soon and he’s a big upgrade over what we had. Does this mean we’re definitely not going QB at 6? Does it increase the odds of us trading back? Does this bring Jeanty into play at 6? Definitely an interesting move.

And if both are gone, are they going to over draft the next tier QB's, I'm guessing they won't.

If there's ANY silver lining, maybe the Raiders know there isnt a franchise QB in this draft and are looking to 2026. We can only hope that is the case.
O’Connell is not going to all of a sudden be mobile. I'm not excited about trading for Geno, but I prefer him over O’Connell.
You realize Smith is not mobile and was sacked a whopping 50 times last season?
Better than what we have in the QB room , but we can't expect him to win us games. Eugene has to manage the game and don't F it up.
A f[raiders_icon]cking 3rd for this trash.
He’s a solid bridge QB and hopefully this rules out Sanders
