Raiders 2025 QB
Might as well start a thread looking at options for QB next year. Have that be the Draft or a vet signing.

Now, comically, he has given the nod to the vet ( like Garoppolo's nod last season) and in similar fashion, may end up giving the reigns to O'Connell mid season.
Just too funny, this organization. I'm interested to see how this plays out.

Better than Levis, better than everyone except Stroud.
The numbers disagree with you. The hardest thing to do in the NFL is WIN, especially as a rookie QB. AOC gives you your best chance to win.
Depends, is the line going to continue to play like shit? The last person I want to see behind this line is AOC.

the amount of drugs that it takes to think Aidan is a franchise QB is staggering.
Way to go, you are apparently addicted to every drug on the planet.
We’ve got 3 winnable games (on paper) after Baltimore followed by a brutal 5 week stretch. I’d say if we don’t win at least 2/3 easier games before then we make the switch. If not - I could see it happening after that stretch since it’s fairly possible we drop all 5.

Raiders are in a race to the basement, I think we were all expecting a lot more from this team and there was very little to be excited about, from the coaching staff all the way down. We got wiped by a bad Chargers and next week we play a good team, should be interesting.
People calling for AOC are delusional, he would have spent more time on the ground than standing upright and that would be giving him the half time break as well.

I mean, I hope he ends up being the greatest QB of all time and I'll gladly eat shit for doubting him but dude just really hasn't shown anything remotely approaching "franchise QB" performance at all.
If/when AOC ends up being a proven mid as f[raiders_icon]ck career backup, I wonder where the goalposts will be then? Will it be "politics made him throw those INTs and take those sacks!" or something else equally stupid?
*20 years from now*
"The Raiders would've had the greatest dynasty of all time winning 7 consecutive Superbowls but it all hinged specifically on AOC being the starter in Week 1 of the 2024 season and that didn't happen so the timeline got screwed up and political/spiritual/celestial forces all conspired together to make sure that AOC never got the proper opportunity to set the NFL on fire with his sloth-like pocket movement and inability to create plays once things break down."

Guess while a good percentage of people here thought Dak was an over rated player that wasn't worth the money the Cowboys disagreed, a team that has a QB1 and looks at the draft and the market so they open up the vault, can't fault theme for that.
Don't know if I agree with that. I only saw a few throws he made, like his quick release and toughness running the ball. I need to watch more of his play/film. But that release of his is quick and he's got a good arm. On to film study room. Here's short clip I saw on a 2025 NFL draft site, like his release.

AOC would have been sacked 6 times minimum.

No way we are in contention for a #1 pick. This team will be picking in the mid-teens.
With that said, we will need a qb, but will have to pay through the nose to get one
